Why am I not getting hired?
|
I have seen multiple advertisement for a qualified position that i am well aware of, that I can handle. I feel my resume states well my objective and well in experience. Normally if the US was in better economy I would receive numerous phone calls a week.Even after being hired people would still be calling me. I am well aware of our recession, but there are still listing for my career choice. Literally everyday and I live in a moderate city. Its not as big as NY but we hope that our football team will win the Super bowl. That is besides the point. I have creditable credentials and it is the hardest just finding a simple job even if I am over qualified. Is there a site out there that say "Don't hire this guy" If so can someone give me that site so i can defend myself. This is Highly ridiculous.

Hey,
If your not getting hired it could be you have not met all of the requirements for the job or they could not be getting a good vibe from you in that case you should try to connect better with the employer or maybe it might be because they dont like the look you are wearing. depends on the job if it is a buisness u should wear a suit if casualy (men) a suit but no tie and top button undone (women) a skirt that us a plain colour and just a shirt or tang but some colourful jewelry!
i hope this helped and good luck

One Step Ahead
|
Most large cities have the One Stop Center aka Career Center. Go there and they will help you with your job search. All of their services are free; counselors, workshop, computers, fax machines, copy machines, job bulletins from all over the US.
They have workshops on selling yourself and your resume. There could be something on your resume that is sending up red flags without you being aware of it.
The link below it for the One Stop Center in NY.

You are correct........the competition is horrible........
There are thousand and thousands of talented, experience people on the street due to the economy…the competition for any job is extreme. …people will do anything for much less just to feed their kids……..I don’t expect it to get any better before 2012……sorry……

There's a lot of competition, since so many people are out of work so they are probably getting a lot more applications that unual.
If you are overqualified, they think you'd leave for a better job as soon as things pick up, so don't want to spend time training you in their company.
Good luck. Keep looking, you'll find something.
