Personal Injury and workers comp. It can take a lot of research and development of re-creations to make a worker's comp claim get maximum comprehension from a jury - but for those who are good at it, it is a gold mine for even a prestigious firm.
The lead partner in a firm I designed space for was a specialist - his office shelves had all these models of construction equipment and there were display boards all over that showed how something grizzly had happened - mostly for the family to get their money when the worked was killed, from the looks of it. But the largest settlements pay the firm the largest returns - though there is a lot of research needed and a lot to spend on those presentation materials.

I would highly reccomend that you try to become a civil lawyer. They do not deal with defending criminals but they deal with lawsuits. This means that you help people sue others. If you become good at this you can become a big name and people and companies with multi million dollar law suits will come to you. This will be good because you get a certain percent of the money that they sue for if you win the case for them.

It used to liability cases. Especially corporate liability, but lots of corporations are going to fold if the economy doesn't straighten up!

Then, who will pay the judgments, even if a lawyer wins the case?

some sort of corporate or international law. but you can make a lot of money in any area depending on where you work. if you get hired by one of the top big law firms the first year pay for all departments is about $200,000 and you get automatic pay raises and bonuses of about $25,000 every year the first 4 years you work there. after 7 years you can be voted to become a partner in the firm and they make over $3 million a year. you don't really apply for a job at these law firms though; they pick their employees out of the best students from ivy league law schools. do charity work, ivies like that, so volunteering for the ACLU would be good for you. join debate team and write for the school newspaper because big law firms hire law students who are on the law review paper and lawyers do a LOT more writing than you realize. so get good grades, get into a really good school, get really good grades again, get at least a 172 out of 180 on your LSAT exams (yes, they're hard to study for because it isn't a normal test, start doing logic puzzles now and read a lot of everything), get into an ivy league law school, work hard to stay in the top 5 - 10% of your class and you'll get an offer. also, start reading business & finance magazines to get an understanding because a corporate lawyer is a businessman. lastly, one of the most important components to corporate success is being nice and fun and having a relaxed, easygoing attitude. easy enough? google the companies on this list to death and find out what you need to do to get there. i'm on the same path myself and i have to tell you that as long as you don't mind a LOT of hard work it's not really that difficult. if you start now you'll be way ahead of the game.

Find out which law firms work for the ''5 families'' then apply to them. The Mafia is the highest paying organisation and you wont have to work hard at all. Mind you, if you let them lose a case you might find yourself in a tub of concrete trying to swim , so make sure your studies are well done.

Well, boy good thing you are asking early in life, I am an attorney, the field in which you can make a lot a money is probably "Entertainment Law", but there are many ways to make good money in law as long as your good in what you do, I practice Criminal Law and Immigration Law, my faves, now LSAT's piece a cake you'll learn what u need to know in college do not worry. the Bar samething.
