NO! Marijuana, while "natural" can be a devastating drug. It causes degredation of the brain, has been linked to alzheimers and is now known to cause scizophrenia, bi-polar (manic depression) and other forms of severe psychosis. My own sister has fallen victim to such effects. While this does not occur in everyone, some people have increased susceptibility to the effects. My mate, who was a light user some years ago, still shows signs of the drugs effects. It is not a safe drug. If you have ever known marijuana users before and after they started, you would understand wher ei am coming from. It is not safe.

No way should marijuana be made legal. No one would work just stoned and trying to steal a bag of chips.

its illegal because they are afraid that the things that can be made out of hemp oil, (paper, rope, clothing, ect...), will put other companies out of business.
in fact, the government supported some major drug dealers on importing to the US. its all a matter of making money and winning the people's trust.
but yeah, it would be waaaay better if it was legal. maybe people would have a better view on it.

Yeah. It should be. You can't actually OD from it, it's better for you that cigarettes, and the only reason the government illegalized it was because they got no money from it.

First thing's first, Dancing Queen<3 is psychotic. Let me share some intellegence with you about marijuana. Marijuana is the least addictive drug out there. It's even less addictive then caffeine. The reason it is chastised so much is because it is considered a gateway drug. Another nifty fact is that more people are killed by alcohol and legal drugs then marijuana. Here are the actual statistics.
ANNUAL AMERICAN DEATHS CAUSED BY DRUGS
TOBACCO ........................ 400,000
ALCOHOL ........................ 100,000
ALL LEGAL DRUGS ................ 20,000
ALL ILLEGAL DRUGS .............. 15,000
CAFFEINE ....................... 2,000
ASPIRIN ........................ 500
MARIJUANA ...................... 0
There really is no reason behind them making marijuana illegal. And I'm not sure about the timber mill thing but I wouldn't be surprised if the FBI was behind that.

It should be made legal because it is impossible to eradicate and the supposed ill effects from the drug are largely unproved. We are much better off regulating the product and saving all the money that goes into interdiction presently.

yes marijuana should be legal. The illegality of it makes criminals of people who use marijuana for medical reasons such as AIDS,MS and chronic pain conditions..The reason it became illegal was for several reasons. The first has to with Randolph Hearst and his newspaper empire.hemp is fast growing and is a very good source for pulp.hearst owned vast timber licenses and he didn't want to have to compete with hemp for pulp and paper. The other person was harry Anslinger who was a government agent who portrayed marijuana users as mexicans and black people. And marijuana as a dangerous drug that would make you addicted.Look up 1927 marijuana stamp act.
