Offer letter received for employment but never actually called for work. Is there a legal remedy?

Applied on website for seasonal employment - shortlisted - offer letter received. Attended a paid training (orientation) where i was told that firm will surely call me 'shortly'. Up full two months, no calls. Followed up persistently by phone calls(could only reach voice message as no one answered).
I feel i have been denied my right to work because, if not for their offer i would still have got a job elsewhere. Can I ask for a compensation? If yes, how long should i wait or How soon should I act?

You haven't been denied work b/c you could have looked elsewhere while waiting to hear from them. Unless you have a signed agreement with the employer promising you a specific amount of work (hours) you are out of luck.
