I work as a temp at a restitution facility which houses persons in the parole/probation system. I am not a member of a union nor do I receive legal representation or protection. I have been working for about 6 months. I enjoy my job and am very good at it, I am proactive (although this is considered bad where I work,) I'm helpful to other staff members and receive praise from both residents and staff (although others have allegedly complained.) I once accidentally called a parolee client a "doofus." It was an isolated unprofessional slip up, I apologized for the mistake to the parolee and to staff/supervisors. I have since been talked to about this 3 seperate times from different supervisors, each one treating this as if it is a seperate incident. Once told that if it happens again I would be fired. I have a feeling that I am being encouraged to quit or evidence is being built against me for my termination (as I hear this is not uncommon.) My HR dept is unclear. What should I do?
