My boss is unfair to me!?
I work in day care and i love it but when it comes to my boss i think shes very unfair to some of the other employees and myself for that matter. She will put up our schedualed hrs day by day not week by week like a normal job would, she will yell at someone if they have to call out, she will give someone hrs and then tell them in the morning they can leave and then not pay them for that day, she will also let some of the other employees get away with certinthings but yell at others for the simplest things like no wearing the staff shirt. She pays everyone unfairly, and she does a lot of other things that i just cant think of right now. I want to find another job but im attached to the children...what can i do? Any opinons?

If she is a business that pays taxes on that business, there are laws she must abide by. If she is not abiding by the states law on how people are paid, you can sue her.

The person above me made a nice answer. Find another job and you will find other kids to love.
Being miserable in your job is just not worth it.

Your best bet - find another job. As far as the children are concerned, you have to let them go at some point. Find a job at another daycare and you'll have a whole new batch to love.

1. find another job. Its not going to get better, and there are other children and other day care facilities. Don't quit until you find another job, but start looking.

2. call your local labor board office. Some of your boss's "unfairness" might be illegal. Usually the labor board staff is super helpful, and you can call anonymously. They will be able to give you really good information and if they feel that there are serious violations your boss could be investigated.
