You don't have a leg to stand on. Your story gives me an impression that you did something wrong. In Fast Food, managers reward and punish their employees with hours - because they don't have the clout or resources to lower or raise pay. If a worker messes up, they cut their hours until they improve or quit. Exam your work ethic and try to find a solution so it does not happen at the next employer.

You don't need to whinge. Just sue the company for fraud. Ask for the difference in pay between what you got and what you expected to get, ask for extra money for them using your good name against yourself, ask for more money for the shifts you would expect to continue working but now can't due to the current situation.

If you like this part-time job, then you have every right to impose all your rights as a part-time employee. Talk to your manager and straighten things out. If you're not satisfied, then, go to the Head Office. You have the right to be heard!
But if this job isn't worth your while, QUIT! There are far more and far better jobs with good managers around.

Discrimination in what way? Are you part of a protected class?
Yes, they can do that. It seems like it would be easier for them to just suck it up and fire you instead of driving you away.

you should just quit obvisouly they dont want you working there and they are trying to make you quit so they dont have to fire you. you can try to ***** and say she doesnt have the right, but employee's suing their bosses rarley work unless something major has occured, and unforunatly not giving you hours is nothing unless you have a contract saying they will give you certain amounts of hours per week and dont. my job you arent allowed to have another job because it is considered a "conflict of interest" those little blurbs on job applications you never read, but sign your signature, says this stuff.

She cannot do that to you. She should not even be divulging your personal information to other employees that arent management. That's private and a big no no for her to do. EEO is a good place for you to look into. EEO (Equal Emplyment Oppurtunities) should have more guidelines on what you need to do. Try suing her for lost wages also. Try suing the company also. Good Luck

Unfortunately you probably need to quit the job. It s illegal that someone forged your signature, I guess the hard part about that is trying to prove who forged it. About her telling others to not give you any hours, you would have to prove that was said and none of your coworkers would side with you because they need their jobs

Sounds like your other job is the better one. For 4 hrs a month I think its worth it not to complain but to ask a meeting with higher ups and voice your concerns as well as tell them how much you like the biz and job etc and what it means to their rep....

Unfortunatly aside from forging your signature what she is doing is not illegal. Usually managers will purposely try to phase somebody out by cutting their hours until they quit. It saves them from having to justify firing you to a court. It's dirty and weaselish. This is especially true if you wait tables.

Wow, seems like that whole forgery issue would scare your boss into treating you a little more nicely. Do you know any lawyers? Maybe a visit from one would scare your boss enough to quit her behavior.

Most states have "employee at will" laws which means employers can hire and fire anyone. Laws protect employees from sexual harassment and being fired for having a disabte ily or sexual preferrence, race etc... but all an employer has to do is create a legitimate reason. Laws may be paid for by the working class (paying the salaries of law makers) but seldom can afford to have the same laws enforced.
Save yourself a lot of frustration and just get another job where you will be appreciated.
It is not fair, but that's life. You can waste your life fighting something that isn't worth it, or move on and find a happier setting. What you describe sounds like a crappy place to work.
