If you're doing a second job where you use information etc. gained in your main employment or doing a second job affects your ability to do your main job then your main employer could object, but if there is absolutely no connection between the jobs and nothing affects your performance then there is unlikely to be a problem. Han	Yes they can - it should be written into the contract though as to the nature of work. E.g. if you're a designer, your employer will probably write into your contract that you're not to do any design work for another company. smedrik	Yes they can, they can have you sign a non competition agreement forbidding you to work another job within a related industry (that is the most easily enforceable) they can also have you sign a contract station they are your sole employer (not as enforceable). If you are in an at will state, it really does not matter if you sign or not, if a second job violates the condition of employment they can fire you with no legal repercussions.
