Nah, but they're legally obliged not to give you as many hours if they know you're working another job.

It depends on what is involved in the second job.

If you're doing a second job where you use information etc. gained in your main employment or doing a second job affects your ability to do your main job then your main employer could object, but if there is absolutely no connection between the jobs and nothing affects your performance then there is unlikely to be a problem.

Yes they can - it should be written into the contract though as to the nature of work.

E.g. if you're a designer, your employer will probably write into your contract that you're not to do any design work for another company. However if the second job is completely unrelated, it should be allowed.

Yes, If it causes you to be late or interferes with your current job. Also, if it is a conflict of interest (i.e. selling the same or similar products at both companies). Many companies do not like it and may find some reason for you not too.

Yes they can, they can have you sign a non competition agreement forbidding you to work another job within a related industry (that is the most easily enforceable) they can also have you sign a contract station they are your sole employer (not as enforceable).

If you are in an at will state, it really does not matter if you sign or not, if a second job violates the condition of employment they can fire you with no legal repercussions.

Where are you? Laws can differ. In the US, generally no they can't. But if your second job interferes with your first, the first employer could and very probably would fire you.

I wouldn't think so, unless it infringes upon the hours that he/she set for you.

It all depends on your terms of employment, you need to read your contract.

I'm not into law, but I'd say if one job interferes with the other, or is a conflict of interest yes an employer can give you an ultimatum. But if those are not an issue, I can't fathom how they could.

No, as long as either job doesn't impact on the other one, or that it's not in your contract.

The answer is yes! It depends on what the other job is but they can stop you from working the second job if they feel there is a conflict of interest or that it limits your availability to them.
