in this day and time, companies have to insure against racial lawsuits, thus race over qualifications and education is a must at times

Years ago I was hired because of my sex -- only female in the computer dept. I did not care one bit why they hired me, I got a job. And once I got in I busted my tail to work harder, smarter, and more accurately then my all male co-workers. I put in tons of OT and did assignments that no one else wanted. After 13 years I was made Director of the department. So to the person who was hired due to race rather than education I say congrats!, now the real work begins -- you need to make sure that the employer never regrets that hiring.

Ya, so as not to discriminate against people who aren't white, companies will choose a less qualified person for a job before they'd hire a white person.
I just graduated college and I'm looking for a job now. No one will hire me because I'm a young, straight, white male with no disabilities.... in the eyes of human resources I bring nothing to the table. I'm part of the minority in the workplace.

The answer is quite simple. If you are turned down 99% and push the issue , you can usually pull the race card and win. That is why the best canidate is not always chosen. I would hate to know I was hired soley on my race.
