Just call the PD and ask them to come pick it up.
Make sure you count it and inventory it before they get there, so there's not an issue later of how much there was.... :)

Take it to the police. If they dont have any claims in so many days, you get to keep it. Besides, if someone does claim it, you might get a reward and definetely a good feeling.

Well if you are an honest person you would hand it in, I would, that is if its really true! If you are being serious then if you hand it in whoever is following you would see you do it and your troubles would be over cos they wouldn't be interested in you anymore!

Listen to me very carefully and do NOT let anyone sway you.First you take all that swag, bundle it up with lots of padding insulation, then pack it in a shipping container and address it to my house.I'll relieve you of this burdensome problem. The address is-------------.

Asking&Receiving

The idea is to turn it in, but to avoid getting blamed. I would never have taken it home, but would have called it into the police at once. Since you touched it, and it may be evidence of a crime, I would get an attorney to go with you as you turn it in to the police, unless you have a friend on the force who could go with you. It is probably stolen goods, in which case there may be a reward, but you are unlikely to be allowed simply to keep it.

Call the police, tell them what you've found, and ask them to come and collect it. Tell them you don't want to go to the police precinct with that amount of money.

Take it to the Police.Hear in Australia i think that if its not claimed after a certain time and investigation its yours(depending on how much it is). a way to make people more honest i guess.

If this is true, I would suggest you take this to the authorities immediately. For all you know, the money could be marked. Do you want this on your conscience for the rest of your life? Or did you just make this up for the heck of it?

The simple things in life

You should hand it in to the Police. They will take your details and then contact you if it is not claimed after a certain length of time and it will be yours. That is assuming it's not proceeds from a burglary or robbery. If you just keep it and don't hand it in, it is classed as theft through finding. Best to hand it in asap.

Call your local police station and tell them the situation. Explain that you are worried about being watched and do not want to bring it in as you are worried. They will probably send a car over to collect you and the cash.
http://www.met.police.uk/local/ will give you the areas (if you are in london) with phone numbers for each station.
