The landlord would need to pay for extermination. However check your lease he may have added a get out clause not to pay for repairs etc.
I like mice so I say trap it (nicely) and set it free.

Do you have a lease? Just as you are to abide by the contract, the "landlord" also has to abide by it.
Mice are considered a health hazard so it doesn't matter how long you've lived there, it should be taken care of appropriately and swiftly. If the landlord won't respond, the Health Department will.

Write a formal letter to your landlord addressing the rodent infestation. Rodents in your house/apartment pose a health risk. It is the landlord's responsibility to take care of it.

About the same rights you would have if you saw an ant...very little, seeing as your landlord does not control nature.

If you saw "a" mouse you have the right to go to your local store and buy a mouse trap or two, or get some poison bait.
If the place is infested with mice then you call the landlord and he will need to get an exterminator at his/her expense.

Contact your agent and ask for an exterminator. Did you bring it with you in your stuff? Contact your local rental board and ask about your rights

hehe there are mice and bugs in a lot of places and I'm going out on a whim and assuming this is one of your first few places and is probably really cheap because its expensive to live on your own, i know. I would suggest calling your land lord asap and letting him know about the situation and in the meantime i would buy a mouse trap. tell your landlord the infestation needs to be taken care of immediately because it is a health code violation and if he doesn't take care of it you can take him to court because its a violation of health codes everywhere in the US. goodluck!

If you can prove that you have an infestation that makes the house UN-Inhabitable, you may have the option to break lease.... you need to check local laws on that....
If you saw a mouse... probably just a mouse, everyone gets mice at some point.

You have the right to notify the landlord and give him or her a reasonable time frame to deal with the issue.

Get a mousetrap. It probably came in while you were moving your furniture in.
Or better yet, get a cat.

Not much. I had a toilet break and my landlord sent a guy over who paperclipped the ball and chain.
The best advice is to get a mousetrap and complain loudly. Aside from that you have little wiggle room here.

ask the landlord to exterminate or just got buy some mouse traps. Remember mice run in threes...so if you see 1 they are 3 of them and if you happen to kill all three of them and see another...it was 6 of them...

A single mouse does not make a place uninhabitable. You can talk to the landlord about it but if you are asking if you have grounds to breach a lease the answer is no.

Go get a mouse trap or call the landlord. It's not that big of a deal. Is this your first time renting?

The right to buy a mouse trap. No matter where you live, you run the risk of having mice. If the place is totally infested...termites, mice...the landlord still has the right to fix the situation before a lease can be broken.
