No they should be killed. If anyone who commited a crime was sentenced to torture until death then no one would commit a crime.

It all starts at home, most teenagers know by then right from wrong. UNLESS they were raised in an unfit home where the right/wrong line is very blurred. The home life needs to be investigated and if it's found that the teenager was raised well and knew right from wrong then yes they should get the adult punishment for an adult crime. If the home is found unfit I think, as a teenager, it may not be too late to turn their life around and should be sent to a facility to rehabilitate.

jeuvy *hav no clu how its spelled* they should but not jail for 18+ becuz alot of teens are young and still really working on being trained i mean i would think they should but you gotta look at their background; depends on the child i think; if they have been abused as a child, divorce parents, etc. had a bad rough childhood i dont think so but if its the other way i think thats up to the court

Thirteen or Seventeen, big difference. But everyone who said yes, keep in mind that you're right if a JURY convicts them of committing the crime and believes that they were in the right state of mind to be held responsible for their actions, then their punishment should/can be an adult punishment. Because at the end of the day, society defines an adult by their ability to define wrong from right, so if a person, be it child or adult is not able to make that decision, they should not be tried as an adult.

Yes. Teenagers these days are a lot more destructive and care a lot less about consequences than teens in the old days who were actually AFRAID of going to juvie.
Maybe their sentences shouldn't be as long- in a way to hopefully scare them out of what will be waiting for them should they return. But, they should definitely get a dose of reality in the big house.

I am 14 and even I agree with that statement. That's like saying a 7 year old doesn't deserve a punishment for going Columbine.

Generally speaking no.
In nearly every aspect of our lives, we consider minors not to be adults. They can't buy alcohol, spray paint, or cigarettes and many other things. Most importantly, they can't vote. Why is it a teenager who goes to school, gets good grades, has no behavior problems and stays out of trouble considered a child and not an adult, while a teenager who makes mistakes and gets into trouble considered an adult?
