this is my opinion...
i believe that if a girl truley wants to get an abortion she should be able too. Young girls get raper a lot these days and they shouldnt have to suffer with the baby that will always remind her. Yes abortion is wrong, but then again is it all that wrong?

Well my friend is so against abortion she always says it's never the baby's fault so why punish it if you angry and upset take it out on the father not the baby.I think if the girl gets raped and you don't want the baby get an abortion it's okay like if you didn't want to go through the pain and misery then have a n abortion that's what i think

How about the 12 year who gets knocked up?
Or the baby with a life effecting birth defect?
Or the baby whos mother doesn't want her?
I guess all the true anti-abortionists will just say how about adoption.
Well why dont you ask all the thousands of children already in foster care what they think of that.
I think it's pretty selfish of people who want to make abortion illegal. I dont think abortion is the best thing, but you dont know what the woman's situation is. Its not your body, and it's not your life. Who the hell are you to make that decision for someone else.

And the answer always is: "Its not the baby's fault." Its a tragic experience for the mother, but taking out a child because she's suffering isn't right either.
If a widower father finds out he's not his 5yr old daughter's father, could he just kill her because it hurts him? Why should he suffer through seeing the remnants of his wife's infedility every day?
Why... he could put her up for adoption! Same with a mother carrying a rape baby. Will she feel terrible she gave an innocent life a chance at happiness that she couldn't after its born and she gave it up? Probably not.

The girl should have the baby and if she feels it is too much for her to take care of, put it up for adoption.
I would go farther into explanation but want to keep my answer non-religious for all of our sakes :)

Hi,
Well I don't agree with abortion but I am not fully against it.
Yea, if a girl got raped I think if she kept the baby the relationship between them would be damaged as the baby grew up.
It would never know a father.
She would be a single mother at a young age.
That could haunt her. "My baby was forced on me"
I don't agree with abortion but it always depends on the circumstance!

That is a whole different situation. However you are saying should the girl suffer? What about the baby. If it were going to a stem cell research lab then I would be for it but if it was just being disposed of then no.
This is a really open topic and there are no right or wrong answers though.

I don't think it should be used as birth control but I am against making abortions illegal due to these situations. Its wrong for others to think they can make that type of decision for someone else.
Saying put the baby up for adoption is just ridiculous. First of all you have to put the rape victim through the stress of carrying a child she doesn't want for 9 months. This can cause irreparable damage to her pysche. Then you have a child who will never know their own history. Or if they do; can you imagine finding out you are the product of a violent rape? Its wrong for others to force people to do or not do something with their own bodies.
The self rightous religious zealots out there need to research all the unwanted children in foster care and the overpopulation of the world right now. If someone makes a choice to have an abortion it is nobody's business but their own. Worry about your own religious salvation and leave everyone else out of it.

They have drugs to prevent implantation, so this should not be an issue. Hope day comes when scope device is invented that will let women remove egg as soon as it is big enough to be seen by lay person. (No pun intended)

The one to suffer is the child... The best thing to do is give it up for adoption. This gives the child, that God gave a life, a chance in this world. Killing the child would be murder. That's not a hard choice to make.
BTW ... Rape victims rarely get preg.

That innocent girl that got raped should carry through with the pregnancy and then put the child up for adoption. Abortion is wrong in any case scenario.

Adoption! Yes, it is beyond HORRIBLE that the girl got raped and she will suffer for those 9 months --- but then again she will feel guilty about killing an innocent baby right? Bad things always happen to good people and it's life and just have to deal with the situation that arised...

The typical woman who gets an abortion is in her 20s and already has at least one child. The raped child now pregnant is extremely rare. I don't see the logic in saying that 100% of all women should be able to have abortions because a tiny percentage may be raped children.
What about that tiny percentage who are raped children? If there is no serious physical health concern then the pregnancy should be allowed to continue. If she doesn't want the baby, it should be put up for adoption.
Where there are children there is hope. To kill a child is to kill hope.

In such an extreme case, it should be up to the sexual assault survivor. No one could possibly understand what she's going through unless they've been there. And even then, people handle things like that differently.
So again, it should be her choice. If she feels that she can carry the baby to term, she should have lots of support. If she feels that she can't, she should still have lots of support.
Edit: As a sidenote, most of the children currently in foster care would not have been aborted anyway, so the argument is irrelevant.

Ok, I am Pro-Choice that does not mean I am FOR abortion, pro-choice means you believe people should have the CHOICE to have an abortion, we do NOT believe that women should get pregnant then just have an abortion and use it as some form of screw ball birth control. It is all about choice. It is Pro-Choice and Pro-Life it is not For abortion or Anti-Abortion.

Well there are two approaches to this.
Some people would say that just because the girl was victimized doesn't mean she has the right to end the life of her unborn child. Two wrongs don't make a right.
Other people would say that would be grounds for an exception. These people are against people who are promiscuous, or worse, don't even use protection and when the obvious happens, think that its ok to just have an easy out and kill the unborn child. Being raped removed the right of the girl to choose to practice abstinence or safe sex, so she ought to be given a choice of how to handle this tragic situation.
I personally think that rapists should be sent to prison where they will in turn be sexually violated against their will. I also think that telling a rape victim to have an abortion and that it is an easy out and will make everything better is wrong. They not only have been raped, but will then have regrets about the decision they made to get an abortion.
My stance comes from my youth pastor at my church, who is alive today because his mother chose to have him despite being raped. He brought joy and meaning to her life, and wasn't a constant reminder of the tragedy but of how God can bring something good from any bad situation. Why should my youth pastor have been denied his chance at life because of the actions of someone else? Surely he shouldn't have been punished for the actions of the rapist? Not only that but there are lots of couples who are unable to have their own children who would happily raise the child as their own if the rape victim decided she was not ready to be a mother.
