anobodyfromouterspace	That is statutory rape if you are sexually active (not just sex) other than that, think about this: unless your'e in a very small community, why the hell would an 18 year old want to be with a 14 year old. Sounds like you should decide what is more mature, being with an 18 year old as more than friends, or thinking about his motives. In the event you live in a state such as California where the minimum age for consensual sex is 18 and are not yet 18 it is illegal by the statute that even with your consent a crime has been committed. However in the event you are 17 and the fella is 20 there is not a judge in the land or I should say a prosecuting attorney that would even consider a consensual sex case regardless of the adamant parental units as it is the parents whom seek retribution. They can seek civil damages but what would the settlement be?...return a child's virtue...I mean c'mon. And another thing in the state of California you may leave home at 14 without parental consent provided you have undeniable shelter and food by some lawful means such as any adult willing to support you and you remain in school with a progressively indicated educational awareness of your curriculum. The reason this law was made was due to the over abundance of nonsense cases dragging the court systems down and being awarded favorably to the child and any adult....the adult was generally a friends parent or a relative whom though they do not become your legal guardian by law they have all due rights as parental control is in essence given them. Most situations do not ever see a courtroom. A pedophile is an individual with an unhealthy obsession for young children at any age even when the pedo may be equal such as a 10 year old ,..and contrary to popular belief there is no rehabilitation to be had for a true pedophilic sociopath. We are better off killing them in a public execution and allowing 12 and under in for free so mommy can tell little Johhny that " see this is what happens when you molest and torment little girls and boys." The incident of child abuse would reduce in significantly appreciable numbers wherever death penalties are sold...hopefully coming to a public gallows near you soon. We are the ones ultimately responsible for each and every violation against these children being committed as it is we whom have yet to legislate appropriate measures for killing vs. studying the minds. Mind study will not head of anyones predisposition because predisposition equates never to be well again. We don't care why or how come we just want no more pedo crimes period. On the other hand there are those instances where a maturity level capable of accepting a decision ones made to have relations with an unusually age differing person is true and of real love and not simple lusting, wanton desire for a little child's body. Heather	If you mean in a sexual relationship, legally you need to be the age of consent. This varies on location. Check out the link. It isn't illegal to be a 14 year old dating an 18 year old but from personal experience it isn't a good idea. You are in a critical period of growth, especially as far as relationships are concerned, and it is easy for someone older to take advantage of it. pumpkinskull	Depends on your region. In Canada the age of consent is now I believe 17, and if you're below 17 you can be with anyone who's within two years of your age. In the States I believe it's similar or likely more strict. So yes, if you're having sex, it's illegal, although he is only (psychologically) a paedophile if you do not have a fully-developed body (legally this counts as breaching the age of consent laws, but probably he would not be called a paedophile.)
