it depends where I am, if the person has offened me in anyway- eg by pushing past me to get passed, and I hate to say it, but if anyone saw them/me- even on cctv.

I am very poor- I have a student loan AND have had to lie just so I can get a loan of £4000 just to keep breathing. I work but dont earn alot (£5.10 an hour, dont ask why its not minimum wage, I am 25 but my wage hasnt gone up.) If I saw a buisiness man or person with a gucci handbag drop it in say canary wharf london, I would assume rights to it,- finders keepers, but if it was say in a poorer part of the uk/london, and the person looked like they were poor or not well off enough to buy gucci prada or mulberry, its going straight back to em.

n.b, canary wharf has cctvs so this is unlikely to happen!!!

I did hand it back.I know what it is like losing money or being short of money at the end of the week. From a moral and ethical point of view I would return it.Then again if you don't return it,it could be regarded as theft, remember you know who the owner is.

Of course I would, no question about it. If there was no one around and I found it I would keep it. That person probably worked dam hard for it and would really miss it, I hope you would do the same.!

I'd give it back ... the person who dropped the money may really need it or it might not even belong to them - i'd also be able to sleep at night

I would give it back without a second thought.

I have no idea what that £50 means to the person who dropped it. Perhaps they won't be able to pay their rent without it, or maybe their child will have to go without some necessity. If I kept it, I could never live with myself.

i would hand it back, it might just be the last of the persons money, how wrong is that to deny that person/ family their own money.

Well----- that depends, If it was a little old lady or a poor person, sure I would give it to them, but if it was a rich person, I suppose I'd give it back to them too, you see I'm honest! That's ME!

If I see them drop it, I'd give it back. If it's just lying on the ground with no one around, it's mine. If there's some form of ID with it, like a license, I'd mail it to the guy (cash and ID together).

Ive seen a man drop his wallet in a shopping centre and i gave it straight back without a second thought, can you imagine if the same thing happened to yourself? You'd pray for someone to give it back.

If you saw the person drop it, why would you keep it? surely that would be just as bad as theft, you know where it came from you know who it belongs to, so give it back, and be able to hold your head up with dignity, and have pride in your honesty.

Give it back. If I didn't see who dropped it, I'd probably keep it. Then, I'd have to figure out how to get it converted to dollars. :)

I like this question, This has happened several times, when a women left her purse ina phone box, when a man dropped his phone, and other valuble possesion drops, that when you give it them back, they never say thank you and acknowledge this, it was like a god given right that it should be given back. However i would probably hand £50 back, now if it was like £10,000 i would probably keep it, as it could help clear some debt! haha
