If someone is looking into my bedroom window every night from his deck, is that illegal?

Cherry	Unfortuantly if your window is his ONLY site, then no... , but if he is deliberatly doing this with binocular and crap then yes that is illegal. Start keeping the curtains closed if it annoys you or buy blinds and turn them upwards so he can't look in yet you'll still be able to get sun and fresh air. OR----- go talk to him and tell him that it's kind of annoying and ask that he not do that... sometimes when you confront the person, they are on point about it and they stop. Stephanie	Yes it is illegal. You have a right to privacy when you are home. But since you have acknowledged that you are in his sight and he is looking, you should stay covered or close the blinds. If you don't, and he still looks, and you go to the police, they'll say "Oh, well, you must not have had a problem with it since you knew about it and didn't close your window." Kate	That's really creepy and disgusting, but I don't believe it's illegal unless he is on your property. You should check with your local statutes though - those kinds of laws vary by state, even county. I would suggest you call the police and inform them so they can swing by and catch him in the act one day, and give him a talking to about being a creeper. Also, be wary of your surroundings when you are alone. The odds are that he's harmless and just weird, but you never know - don't nap with the doors unlocked or windows open, don't do yardwork with headphones in so you can't hear your surroundings, etc. You're that much safer if you don't make yourself an easy target. STEVEN F	As long as he can look at your window from HIS property, I doubt there is much you can actually do except close the curtains. If my living room is visible from a public street, I have no expectation of privacy unless the windows are covered. A similar principle applies to the case you describe.
