burner1978	This depends on the state. In CT dating isn't regulated, sex is regulated. The age of legal consent is 16 years old. Under that age it is statutory rape unless the older party is within two years in age of the other, example a 17 years old boy is allowed to have sex with a 15 year old girl. I know what I know	There are no laws that restrict "dating" it when the dating goes into sexual contact that laws apply. However in NJ the age of consent is 16 so again you should be fine. Duh, indeed. She can have sex with an adult, no problem. Just make sure she really is 17 and not 15, since then the guy would be more than four years older. Arkansas is the state with the weird law - and adult can have sex with a thirteen year old girl, so long as she wasn't a virgin when you did it. critofur	DATING a 16 year old by an adult should be legal an ANY US state. In NJ, having sex with her IS legal, surprising how many ignorant people tried to say it's not. Read the law folks.
