I think that since the accident happened on your property that your insurance should pay his medical bills and a broken bone is very horrible to go through and it may require surgery to have it heal properly. I recently know because I recently broke my ankle bone. As the old saying goes, Accidents do happen! I advise you to politely offer to have your insurance pay his medical bills. Good Luck!

He would have to file suit, not his wife. Legally he could, but he's your brother, you two would have to have a pretty messed up relationship for him to want to sue you over this.

Of course they could if there was negligence on your behalf. My bigger question is..why would he? If that is the type of brother/person he is..disown him. You can find better freinds in an alley.

I think only if the accident involved something of yours. Like he fell down your stairs, or your door slammed his wrist, or something like that.

You might get sued by him. I do not see how his wife or insurance company would have a reason to sue you.

Your homeowners insurance will cover his medical expenses. That's what it's there for!

It doesn't matter much where he broke his wrist. What matters is why he broke his wrist. If he was injured due to your negligence, then he can sue, his medical insurer can sue and possibly his wife.

It would have to be an act of negligence on your part for him to sue you. If you had a loose stair or bad railing, than yes. Now, if he was screwing around and he injured himself due to his own choices, than he may try, but he would lose. GOOD LUCK!!!

umm....if he's going to sue you because he broke his wrist on your property.....then it's pretty shallow thinking.....
yes he can sue you......but that's why you have homeowners insurance or something like that.

If you are the one who broke his wrist, say, you twisted his arms causing the accident...
But if it's his own stupid crap, then those who sue you are equally stupid.

I'm not sure why your brother would want to sue you but unless you somehow led him to doing this than no. And also, I don't think you can on private property unless you physically broke his arm yourself. What I mean is that in a store they have all of these things that they have to do to make your experience safe but since your house is private property you have no obligation to make sure that your floor isn't slippery before people walk on it, etc.

This will depend on how and under what conditions the accident happened. If there was an obvious condition that was under your control,, and for some reason ignored, yes, he can sue.
But, if this was just a case of him not watching his step, or where he was going, then it's his fault.

Doubtful, unless your brother charges you with assault or negligence of some kind. They can try, but wont win.

I do not know about being sued. I know your home owner´s liability insurance may be used if they do not have any insurance or maybe the other insurance company will try to get it out of your home owner´s insurance.

Sure you could get sued, even it if it's your brother, but your homeowners insurance might cover it for you.

Hey there

How was his wrist broken? Was it a foreseeable danger? If it was because he fell off of your stairs that were in disrepair, then yes, Mary can sue you. If he broke his wrist because he climbed on your roof, and you told him to get down, then no, can't can't. Depends a lot on how he broke it.
