I'm from Portugal where there hasn't been death penalty since the 19th century. I do not and cannot support death penalty since, as a Catholic, killing somebody is a crime, no matter how serious the crimes of that person may have been. So, for me, the death penalty is also a crime and worse still, a crime that is supported by the law.

Not at all for any reason, to many mistakes have been made to call it a fair response to a problem. Killing, someone for their crimes is just revenge and revenge is wrong. It serves no other purpose.
Edit: U.S.A.

USA...yes where there is a confession and the death wasn't accidental or a crime of passion or self defense or battered womens syndrome. Any life that is taken in premeditation and with malice and intent they need to do the death penalty and get it over with. If there is reasonable doubt and no confession or absolute evidence...DNA then they need to wait until it is proven. If a child is mutilated and not killed I think they need to give the death penalty . I am tired of my tax dollars being spent educating, feeding, housing, providing medical and dental care and all the rest for people that have no respect for human life or for childrens wellbeing. I want them gone. I'd rather spend it on helping victims and not the criminal. They don't have the right to live in society and the victim has no choice but sometimes can't because of the trauma or if they were murdered the family has to live with the loss. This is a travisty. I'm sick of it.

I am from Texas and for the most part oppose the death penalty. I do believe certain crimes do deserve it however such as multiple homicide with a large amount of witnesses and an avalanche of evidence. I think my state is way too overzealous in carrying out the death penalty.

Absolutely. The Law must provide JUSTICE and that is different from PUNISHMENT. Where there is no doubt of a grievous crime committed, the death penalty is right. The death penalty hasn't shown to be a crime deterrent by the way.

I didn't use to, but now I do. A friend I went to high school with was murdered and I want her killer to be shot between the eyes.
I also think anyone who murders or molests children should be put down like dogs right away.

eI am from the USA and I do support it. Except they should be killed in the same way they killed there victim. Not just have a needle stuck in their arm and they go to SLEEP.
This is not Justice. And the need to be executed within a certain
time. Not after years of appeals.

Yes I support it. It would make the crime rate go down if you knew you'd be put to death and not given the chance to "rehabilitate" in prison on taxpayers money. I say take them straight from sentencing to the electric chair. Done & over with, the prisons' will be less crowded too

No. With the failure of the U.S. Judicial System and our wrongful imprisonment of many innocent people, the death penalty cannot be considered just. I don't believe the U.S. should allow the execution of Saddam Hussein and I believe that justice should be blind but not deaf and dumb.
