Based on Wisconsin Statute 905.05 (in the link below) can a spouse PREVENT another spouse from testifying?
I know this statute allows a spouse NOT TO TESTIFY against the other spouse if he or she doesn't want to. However can one spouse PREVENT the other from testifying even if the other spouse wants to?

In some states it depends on what the spouse wants to testify about. e.g., the husband usually CAN prevent his wife from testifying about "confidential communications" that he made to her. But he might not be able to prevent her from tesifying about other things, such his actions (which are not communications).

That's what the statute states, if you read it. Did you read it??

Also read the comments following the statute, particularly the quote cited from Umhoefer v. Police & Fire Commission. "The priviledge under sub. (1) belongs to the person against whom testimony is being offered."

Note that the priviledge applies only to "confidential communications." A person cannot prevent his spouse from testifying per se, but only from testifying to the content of confidential marital communications.

Yes, except when both parties are parties to the legal action, when one is charged in a crime against the other or their children, When one is charged with a crime of pandering or prostitution, or when one has acted as the agent of the other and the private communication relates to the scope of the charges.

There are others, you really just need to read this stuff. It's pretty clear.

This is the pertinent paragraph:

person has a privilege to prevent the person’s spouse
or former spouse from testifying against the person as to any private
communication by one to the other made during their marriage
