Coxy	There's no way your NOT going to juve. Police officers and judges have evolved and no longer carry the sense of compassion or feelings. They're just going to say you have had repeated chances to get straight and you no longer have the right to dispute or apologize for what you have done. seriously. A judge wanted to send me to juve for getting pulled over a third time for not having a license but I was underage so she couldnt go thru with it. s.hackett94	Do what you can bro. shouldnt have been dumb. the judge probably wont send you to juvi and if he/she does they wont give you that much time. my advice. practice fighting. if you have to serve sum time. the just exercise and dont start ** with anyone. if someone starts ** with you, fight. even if you kno ull lose. _Courtneyy [The Original.]	A judge dosent care how sorry you are. Alls they care about is the fact that you werent sorry when you stole. Trust me ive been in and out of juvi about 6 times. It IS an option, and i cant say weather theyll send you there or not. Because in most cases, they concider stealing a HUGE crime for teens. You will without a dout though get probation, which is the EASIET thing to violate. Sorry but 9 times out of 10 youll voilate and really end up in juvi. Good luck though. =) Oh and juvi isnt just for rape/drugs. ive been in there for battery/violation/stealing/battery/bat... Mr. L	first of all lol all this for 11 dollars really not smart even for a 15 year old.secondly i don't know what you've been watching but no one gets butt raped in juve. only in real prison where the harden criminals are. Most likely they'll give you a warning put you on probation and community service. it's still a little weird though that they charged you for 3 crimes since all you did was theft but i guess different places different rules. Matt E	haha over in uk u would just get a caution for stealin that lol. i doubt ull get shanked or raped mate only in adult facilities my friend went to jail cos he stole some drugs from a drug store and took them, that and stabbing someone in the head got him 2 weeks and he was beaten up and has a massive scar on his forehead. good luck! I'm sorry your parents are treating you so harshly, and they seem to be making you paranoid with their threats. It will be fine. Just make sure you learned your lesson, and if you have a friend who shoplifts, don't ever go to a store with them. Kids who go to Juvi are there for felonies, like violence/drugs/other ghetto stuff. Their parents neglected to raise them right, so they have emotional issues, and they typically are high school drop-outs. They start having sexual intercourse at very early ages and are generally promiscuous. Because they are insecure and quick to anger, they frequently start fights for the slightest perceived "dis." jthach	Alright, first of all, you will most likely NOT be going to juvenile jail. And in juvie, you won't be shanked or raped, it's a lesser prison, more lenient and less harsh. Do NOT send a letter to the judge, it's not going to make it any better. If anything, it makes it worst. First thing you need to do is calm down. If you're freaking out and stressing over this, your grades will not benefit from your actions. Most likely, you will get a slap on the wrist, probation/community service and take a short class about not stealing. First, it's probably your first offense. You did not get into a fight, you were not charged with assaulting or murdering someone. You're definitely not going to jail. Second, you sound like you're really, really sorry. Right, don't talk to any of your friends anymore. If you do, it'll make it much worst. Try hard to bring up your grades and do good in school. Do less talking and essentially "show them the money." Show that you're trying hard and doing good, acting good, and that you are good. The law is not out there to punish you. It's only to educate you, to make sure you don't commit any further crimes. Erika	I am 16 and in october a bunch of friends and myself went to a grocery store and stole $30 worth of merchandise, we also got caught... we were charged with 5 different charges 4 of which were dropped... we stole alcohol and none of us were 21... so i guess thats worse than your crime and we recieved 8 hours of community service... but i guess it depends on which state you live in... this was in Iowa GOOD LUCK Was this answer helpful to you? Haseeb S	if ur 15, and u have good grades in school and involved in some activities, the judge will let u off easy. u will not go to juvi, trust me, it takes a lot to go to juvi like rape/drugs. u just commited a minor offense. im not saying its bad, but its not horrible. when u do have court, say ur sorry as much as u can, say u wont do it, and blah blah blah. at the most u will get community service. stay out of trouble, best answer Was this answer helpful to you? caw0059	Hey man, chill a little bit. Of course what you did was wrong, but since it was your first offense, and pretty minor, I would say there is a big chance you won't be going to JU-V. I'm not sure about the laws where you are, but I'm pretty sure the cop lied to you saying, "if you steal ever again it will be a felony". Offenses are generally tiered meaning offenses of different levels of seriousness have different names. A felony is a pretty big deal. You should do some searching online about California law. Anyway, to answer your question, I personally do not think you will go to JUV, but it could always be a possibility. Don't start hanging around with the wrong folks now. Try to do good things, but don't forget to have fun in the process. You will probably get off with community service and a fine or something. After you finish your community service, maybe you could try to find a part time job bussing tables at a restaurant or something. Good luck kid. Don't fret too much. slava1776	Haha, I knew who committed a felony by smashing mailboxes with pumpkins, which is a federal crime. He still went school, while on probation. He didn't get "juvy" time for it. I have a feeling that if you committed this misdemeanor that they won't bother sending you to juvy. katydint	Try not to panic, and as hard as it is, try not to cry. You will be given opportunity to speak to the judge, so a letter isn't necessary at this time. Showing remorse, as you have and will, is good, the judge will likely respond favorably to that. Here in Santa Cruz County all effort is made to keep minors in the company of their family, it's more productive all the way around when that's possible. I hope this is true for treatment of juveniles where you are. I have a feeling that since this is your first offense you won't be incarcerated but may receive probation and some other assignments (letter to victim, letter to probation or judge, volunteer work in the community...).
