Which is safer to give out, Social Security Number, or Drivers Liscense? Its for registering for something?

Obviously I dont want to give out either of them but to register my Wachovia Gift Card to make online purchases you need to either use your social security number or drivers license number. Which one is safer to use?? Thanks!

Both answers are correct. Using your SSN can set you up for identity theft, while your DL doesn't. I'm a bit surprised that a big bank like Wacovia would ask for it.

drivers license number since yuo cant get much of anything with just that but with social security number you can get a lot an dreally id bet you could make up a number that would work and not give either one
