What do I do if my car got hit while it was parked? Insurance wise?

Stephanie F	You call your insurance agent and give them the complaint number, tell them what happened, and give the other person's insurance information to them. If your insurance covers your car while it is in the shop, they will pay for part of a rental, if you have that rental insurance. ash08love	that woman needs to call her insurance company and have them get into contact with you. You better hope she has full coverage. It should be her insurance company who pays for your loaner car..... if she doesnt have full coverage, you wont be gettin a loaner car.... Jenn	You need to call your insurance company and give the police number and your story. You car was hit so therefore it is the other persons fault. If the lady drove off than that is a hit and run and she should be cited for it. Get the other ladys insurance info as well since it sounds like you know her. Give all that info to your insurance company. They will get everyones statements and information. If you have rental insurance on your policy than that should be covered but really the other lady should be the one to cover your rental on her policy since she was the hit you. Call the other person insurance as well so they can get your statement. There needs to be statements on both sides. They will then contact her if she has not already and go from there. Everything should be taken care of through her insurance but you need to let yours know. It wont count against you or make your policy payments go higher because it wasnt your fault.
