Probably not. Insurance companies are really sneaky. Better to ask your insurance agent.

He will be covered if he was driving with your permission or lives in your household. You need to list him as a driver if he occasionally uses the vehicle. As soon as he has the accident the insurance company will add him as a driver anyway. The only way he would not be covered is if he doesn't live with you and was driving without your permission (assuming he's never driven the vehicle before and has no history of usage) or if you signed an endorsement to the policy excluding him by name.

you have to tell your insurance company before he drives it.
depending on the age of your son they may adjust your premium
it would be better IMHO to get him an old car, his own insurance policy. he is then building up no-claims discount ready for when he gets a proper car. also, your car may have more power than he is used to (you would trust him with your life, but would all the other road users?)

yes they will cover it but it will cost you. your rates may go up--its probably cheaper to add him--that way if he wrecks your car its difinetly covered and you can cover your own but later by just dropping him from your coverage. After the accident take him off and your rates will not go up. it'll only be on him.

not if he is on the "Exclusion" list. When you got the policy they should have asked who else will be driving the car, and who else lives in the house with you. You then should have had to sign off the people that live in the house with you as being excluded from coverage. You better find out for sure though!!

If he lives at home, and has a license, he really should be on the policy. If he is say 24, and lives down the street in an apartment, if he is driving with your permission he is covered.

As long as you give him permission. If he is in an accident, insurance company will make you add or exclude him from the policy.
Meaning you are only paying for the driver rated in the house and not for your son. The rate will go up once he is on the policy but won't be as high if he is an occasional driver.
I would just add him to the policy and pay for him to drive the vehicle for "pleasure".
You insure the vehicle and it would be cover 100%.
