I won't tell you not to do it, b/c no matter what others will tell you, you're probably still going to right? You obviously know you're not guaranteed not to get caught, but if you're smart about it, then odds are you won't get caught... First of all, do you know how to drive-you've driven a car before right?
TIPS:
-Make sure all lights are working on car(brakes, headlights, etc.) that's an easy reason a cop will pull you over.
-don't drive over the speed limit, so always pay attention to the signs
-Always use your turn signals
-don't swerve all over the place, stay in your own lane
-don't follow too closely
-make sure you know where you're going. Sounds silly I know, but if you don't know where you're going, odds are you're not paying attention to the road.
-keep a lookout for cops! You may not know yet, but there are so many undercover cops looking for a reason to pull somebody over(they won't be able to tell you're illegally driving until after they pull you over, so don't give them a reason too!)
Just make sure you know where you're going and you're not speeding. Look for cops' cars in front of you, behind you, on the side of the road. If you do get caught, I'm sure they're just going to have you call you're parents to come get you, or they'd just take you home. It depends on the cop. You can't get into that much trouble, you're only a minor so to the law, you're just a "kid who doesn't know what they were doing or their consequences". So I'd say you'd probably get into more trouble with your parents than the cops! People are going to tell you you're going to go to jail and all that, but say you were to get pulled over for some reason, be very respectful to the cop, don't be a smartas$. Act as innocent as you can, say you're sorry and all you want to do is go home.
Just be wise, I wouldn't recommend it of course, but reguardless, be safe please!

Depends on if your mom and brother are heavy sleepers or not, and how good you drive. If you haven't driven much before, you'd be pulled over for being suspected of drunk driving. The cops will ask for your liscense and registration, you won't have it, you'd go to jail, they'd call your mom, you'd get in big trouble with your mom as well as possibly going to juvie, and not getting your liscense until you're 21( I believe that's the age).
Or you could get into an accident, depending on if you're an experienced driver or not, which I suspect, at 14 you aren't. Please don't do it, it's not worth risking your safety as well as your friends.

Can't you find something lucretive to do with your time other than hijacking your parent's car to go pick up your friend? What are you going to do after you pick up your friend, go somewhere and chill? Or just pick her up and drop her off at home? I can see that call:
"hi, this is so-n-so's mom, just wanted to thank you for dropping my daughter off late last night."
"um, i didnt drop off your daughter. I and my other kids were asleep."
"well, there was a female driving YOUR car last night."
"hmmmm."
The cops are the least of your problems. They're not at home with you after this totally, stupid mistake.

The likelihood that you would be caught is 50/50. If you don't know what you are doing and you hit someone, the lawsuit will be tattooed on your butt by your mother. Don't do it .

The likelihood of being caught is probably a lot less than the likelihood of you killing yourself, your friends and some innocent bystanders in a wreck. Leave the car alone. You would be the most dangerous thing on the road, to yourself and others.

Well the best way to think of this is what will happen when you get caught? If you get caught you will have a record of illegal driving and that will cause your future insurance company to charge you an even higher rate than normal for a teenager (easily $1000 every 6-12 months).

You want to end up up with a police record before the age of sixteen, try it. Sitting in a jail cell is not a lot of fun, from what I have been told.
I hope you are not out on the road when myself or any of the members of my family are, or anyone else that I know.
You would be much more mature and smarter to either wake your Mom up and ask her to pick up your friend, or the really responsible and mature thing to do would be to tell your friend, sorry I cannot drive and will not be picking you up.
If you do get caught, you may not be able to hold a license or carry car insurance or register a car of your own for years to come.
I worked with a young man who was never granted a license because of a similar decision, he was 23 and could not drive a car or get a license until he was 25. Pretty embarrassing to be having your parents and 17 year old sister play taxi driver at that age in order to get to work.
Smarten up, before you ruin your life for years to come.

If you do get caught, you can forget any thoughts of a legitimate license before the age of 18 or 21, depending on the state and what the judge says, so the real question is, are you willing to take that chance?
Also, if caught, your mom's car gets towed most likely.

You might not get caught, but will grow confident and you will do it again and they will catch you and you're going to regret it. Don't do it.

Very highly likely you'll get caught.
When you DO get caught you'll cause your mother a lot of $$$ in fines. And you will not be able to get a license for a LONG LONG TIME. Don't do it.

Not really a good idea. I tried that once and got busted. Being my luck i stopped at a 4 way stoplight and lo' and behold there was one cop at each corner. On top of that i had 4 passengers in a 2 seater car. Boy was i really pushing the envelope. If you get busted your really going to hear it from your mom and also the police officer could probably take your permit away for a while and it might be on your record. Just do the right thing and when someone is available to give you lessons or go driving with you then thats the right time. Goodluk!

You want to take the chance the car will be impounded and your mom will have to pay towing and storage fees to get it back?
You want to take the chance you will have an accident, and you and your mom will be sued for potentially hundreds of thousands of dollars?
You want your mom to wake up, see the car gone, and report it stolen? And it would be stolen - by you!
You want to ruin the chances for your mom trusting you with anything ever again?
And you want help? You need help, alright, from Dr Phil!

Pretty good. You really think a cop won't think you look a little young to be driving? A car with a couple teenagers in it out late? Oh, yeah.... please don't tell me this is one of your smarter ideas cuz it's incredibly dumb.
A car is not a toy to be filched when no one's looking. You go right ahead and do whatever you want but when the stuff hits the fan don't start whining.

could you imagine if your parents caught you, a neighbor saw you, or the cops pulled you over?

50 - 50.
Either you do, or you don't.
If you do, the consequences will be harsh.
If you don't, and have an accident instead, the consequences will be harsher.

If you get caught.. in Escondido, CA they will impound your car for 30 days MANDITORY!! And your mom would end up paying about $2000 to get it back.. its not worth it. Not to mention if you get in an accident even a small one, even if its not your fault could be disastrous and you and your mom could end up in serious financial debt.

well, that depends on how well you can drive. if you can drive without looking suspicious at this hour you will probably be fine as long as you don't hit any DUI checkpoints. but i strongly advise against it. odds are that you will get caught by your parents, and in big big trouble. if you get pulled over by the police, you are talking serious trouble. it isn't worth it. besides, the drunks are out at this hour, and the cops are just looking for a reason to pull people over being a friday night. DON"T DO IT!
