It really depends on where you're taking your driving test. Different DMVs tend to have different examiners. I know in some areas, they have really really strict examiners while in others, they're more lenient.

Remember to drive at or a few miles below the speed limit. I think if you drive at least 2 miles below the speed limit, it'll be a pretty safe bet.

Don't forget to always check your mirrors and do quick left and right checks at the intersections. The examiner will tell you ahead of time where you'll be turning and what not, so pay attention to the examiner's words along with your driving.

Don't be too nervous. If you've been practicing how to drive for a while now, you should be fine.

Good luck!

Relax and drive the best that you can. But remember that most importantly to never speed and to not hit anyone. And any time you even feel like you're turning use your blinker. If they tell you to pull to the side of the road you automatically must be prepared for parking on a hill whether it looks like a hill or not. Besides all that though you really just have to be comfortable with what you're doing because that's what really gets you through.

Don't put on the radio. Instructors do not like to listen to techno. Put your seat belt on and hold the steering wheel with two hands. Do not have your seat set back as low as it can go. Do not ask the driving instructor if he would like a sip from your flask. Follow my steps and you will have great success.

Expect it to be a quick test. The examiner usually will get an idea of your driving skill in a couple minutes (correctly or incorrectly). They will usually get in the car the same time you do, since you cannot drive to the test. The car should be turned off at this point. Sit down, check the mirrors for adjustment since another person was just driving. Then just follow the examiner's directions and do exactly what they say and only when they say it IF it's allowed legally and is safe to do so.
Start the car when asked and make sure everyone has their seatbelt on before you put the car in drive. If not politely remind them to buckle up. A leisurely pace and smooth motions are the way to go. The safer you make them feel, the better. Good luck!

A couple of quick tips:

Scout out the area where you will be taking the test, if you are unfamiliar with it.

Make sure the car is in good working order, such as brake lights and turning signals are all working.

Relax, take a deep breath, and believe in yourself. pay attention, Look around. be observant. be Patient. be confident.
Kids today are pretty adept in video games and multitasking, so driving should be a breeze, but don't get cocky. Remember, you cannot control the other guy. Be courteous. Stick close to the speed limit. Not too fast, and not too slow. Read the road signs, watch for yield and stop signs. yield when merging, but merge, don't stop halfway. Pass carefully, and use signals.

It depends on where you're taking it. When I took it, I only had to back the car between some cones and then drive through a quiet neighborhood. When my daughter took it in a different state, she had to back the car around a corner, parallel park, drive around a neighborhood, and probably some other things that I don't remember. Just to be safe, make sure you can parallel park, that you look both ways before making turns, and that you come to a complete stop when you're supposed to. When you turn, be sure to stay in the lane--don't swing out too far in someone else's lane (even if no one is there) and don't cut to close to the traffic to the left of you when you're making a left turn. Be sure to put on your seat belt and adjust the mirrors before you start the car. Good luck to you.
