witchypoo	If the guy has a car with valid insurance on it, his insurance should cover the damage minus the deductiable. If he doesn't have insurance he should have to pay for the total repairs. Sue	An accident with an animal is covered by the comprehensive (also known as "other than collision" coverage), NOT collision. If she didn't have this coverage on her vehicle, she has to pay for the damages herself. She chose not to buy the coverage which means, she said to the insurance company, any damage to her vehicle she pays for. The guy is not liable for the damage because it is not a collision loss. The coverage would not be under his comprehensive coverage (if he purchased it) unless it can be proven that this vehicle was a temporary substitute vehicle while his vehicle was in the shop or otherwise not usable. It doesn't sound like this is the case. Unfortunately, she is out the damages to her car & will have to pay to fix them.
