Hi asking for advice, about a car that has a SORN on it.?

Witch	I would imagine it would be ok as you are moving it to the garage to be fixed, your not actually using it as such. I take it the car is not insured either? If in doubt call the DVLA, they should be able to give you an answer Was this answer helpful to you? Yes / No

reny_cosworth	as long as the car is booked into the garage to have the mot done you should be ok but i would phone the dvla to find out for certain Was this answer helpful to you? Yes / No

stephen T	Not 100% so I would check with the DVLA, but, if it's anything like the MOT law, providing it is properly "booked" in with the garage you can drive it directly to and from the garage. Was this answer helpful to you? Yes / No

dwillibob	Trade plates (if garage will collect it on these) will cover you for the fact that it doesn't have tax- but not for the fact that it hasn't got an MOT- You could get done if you were caught driving without one- unless you could proove that you were definately on your way to go and get it done. I think you'd be best getting it towed or taken to the garage on a transporter. Woudn't it be worth asking the garage f they will tow it for you for free? nosdda	You will need written proof that you are driving the car to an MOT station for a test. Ask the MOT station to confirm your test in writing. This is in case the police stop you on the way. Was this answer helpful to you? Yes / No

leo29_1987	if its not registered , not insured or illegal to drive then youll be taking your chance's getting it there. the chance is very low. ive moved vehicles this way a few times with someone following me that i know. I'd recommend at least having it insured before you move it. most (not all!) cops will let you go as long as its insured (although some may follow the law and give you a ticket) also if you hit someone or someone hits you youll be covered Was this answer helpful to you? miss h	it has to be pulled to garage on a dolly truck or a breakdown truck it is still against the law to drive it , Was this answer helpful to you? Yes / No

benny_chops	the insurance is not valid without a valid MOT or tax disk. get it towed, it's not worth the risk if you have a bump or you get pulled over by police. risk is low but consequences are high. Was this answer helpful to you? Yes / No
