Timbo is here	You may have to just give the new company the policy number and your old insurers name and they will check it themselves. The renewal document/quote for the old insurer may need to be sent to the new insurer to prove entitlement. They usually take it on trust for a few days until you can get the stuff to them if needs be. Do not worry, this happens everyday to thousands of people. miss lea	when you get your quotes they will ask how many years u have so u need to tell them u have 2 yrs. If u take out an alternative policy they will either ask to see evidence (this can be your renewal schedule which will show your no claims bonus and current insurance details) or they will ask for your insurance details insurer and pol no and check themselves. Kimmie Craig	when i was renewing with another company, i rang the previous company and they wrote a letter confirming the amount of years i had as no claims. this was after i had already renewed and the new insurers wanted proof. Was this answer helpful to you? Yes / No

Angela M	You don't normally get any kind of certificate. If you are claiming that you have a year's no claims, your new insurer will contact your old insurer to verify this. That's one of the things that you are paying for in the hiked up prices!! Was this answer helpful to you? Yes / No
