Most insurance agents and companies know when you buy a car that you will be putting the car in your name. So, they will allow you to put insurance on it.
Check with your insurance agent.

As long as the car is registered you can get insurance for it. At least in Tx. But I'm pretty sure it works the same way. Call an insurance company, maybe one you wont necessarily use and tell them the situation.They are all licensed and should know the state laws. Good luck.

Many insurance companies will allow you - after all, who would pay insurance for a car they don't, or will never get?
When i was doing a quotation, i was asked:
"When did you get the car?" and there were 3 options including "haven't got it yet" - if you pick this, it then asks "when do you plan to pick it up", with current month, and next two months as options.
other companies may ask similar questions.
