How much did you pay in taxes last year to the Federal and State government for your income? Bet it was zero. I paid almost 1/3 of all the money I make. I have no problem with legal immigrants that pay taxes and work for a living, I even love it when I see immigrants get their citizenship. Try it, the benefits are wonderful. EDDie	What nonesense! Americans and the United States are most generous, affording possibilities, freedom, and dreams to become reality. In fact, I think that Americans bend backwards all too often just to accommodate others, and that, in part, is their weakness and yet an endearing quality. If you are one of the illegal immigrants who marched in LA, you should be ashamed of yourself. You should feel very fortunate to be afforded the opportunities of this wonderful nation of ours. It is absurd how the U.S. is providing services not just to Latin Americans, but other foreigners in their own tongue. If you come to the U.S. you ought to learn English. We should not provide services to you in your tongue. The U.S. taxpayers are spending billions of dollars per year supporting illegals of all backgrounds. In California, there are millions of illegals from Latin America, and that is breaking the state's back. Instead of investing these funds to provide social services that are used in large part by illegals, we could use them for people who are legally here. If you want to emigrate to the U.S. you ought to do it legally. No other country in the world would afford the opportunities and services the U.S. provides you, no other nation! The wonders of democracy and the republic for which we stand are blessing and weakness at the same time. Unfortunately, the illegals are sucking important parts of the economy. That must stop. zclifton2	Unfortunately, many Americans find and elect men like George W. Bush who pander to them. The Republicans are using immigration to get themselves reelected. The Republicans do not allow laws to be made or enforced that require large Corporations and individuals to comply with the laws to protect our borders. First, Don't Generalize by saying "Americans" because your saying I only care about myself. Not true. Second, the reason why so many citizens are angry is because of the fact that there are no federal taxes being payed by immigrants. Everyone has to put in their fare share to make society going, you can't just live off of everyone else. kxaltli	The problem is that there are too many Americans who don't like to pay attention to what goes on outside their own little worlds. There are people who are willing to help with a lot of things that go on outside the US (that are helpful, not harmful) but then there are people wo would tell you that they won't pay attention to it becausse it doesn't affect them. Many people I know participated in that protest, and I think there were some smaller ones that worked on local governments (I'm not sure where, but I can go check that again). One of the problems (imho) is the people who are running our government right now. I think other governers, senators, etc. might have had a different view and that many of this stuff may have passed, instead of being ignored. I know my governer to be one of those peole who would do better out of office than in (...he was recently made Secretary of the Interior, so now there's an even worse one in office). I can go look up some websites of people who may be able to help as well. Also, there are plenty of jobs for immigrants as well as Americans. If you want to point the finger of blame, bleame those big companies who take over everything. Wal-Mart is a good example of this. They make a lot of local businesses go out of business, give maybe three hundred jobs to h communtiy (plus a lot of really, really bad things that go in their contract in the fine print) after they take away maore jobs than that.
