Facinating question. When the Swedes came to this country, it was covered with trees. Many pine, but many of the Oak and Maple. They were, where there had never been a serious forest fire, sholder to sholder together. And the Swedes brought the muscel and blood that ended up in making this country the great nation it is as they cleared farmland and grew crops that fed those who came later.. and the many just like them that came through and move even further west.
