SAMD010	No! And further more, they are not here taking jobs that Americans won't work. As a sub-contractor of Pacific Gas & Electric, they left my meter running backwards on my electric meter. They used to hang around and wait for my wife and my daughter to leave so that they could smoke cigarettes and drink ice water from my freezer in the garage, and make wolf whistles at my family when they left home for work in the morning. I know that my wife and daughter are incredibly beautiful, but are Mexican women THAT BUTT UGLY??? Gee! I should hope not. They are about to own this country soon. It was my understanding that, although none knew a word of English, they would save PG&E lots of time & money. Their shoddy work cost me an extra $334. No politician ever discusses anything close to the truth, on the 6-o'clock evening news. It may cost them too many votes. I don't hate anyone, but another American Revolution will DEFINITELY PUT A STOPPER on illegal border crossings for several years if NOT forever and ever!!! Let's get it!! I'm readddddy!!!! Lyn B	NO AND AGAIN NO. I'm wondering what part of ILLEGAL people have a problem understanding. ILLEGAL means they should not even be in this country....so for crying out loud why should American citizen be paying for their education, their medical expensive, ununemployment expensive. etc. I am fed up with being abused by people who want to retain their native language, expect us to furnish them with bilingual teachers pay for the child care of their school age children, furnish them with lunches and help pay their rent and give them free medical care. COME HERE " LEGALLY ' AND YOU ARE WELCOME, wtih a drivers license they can vote and with on license they can qualify for license in other states and with license they can apply for even more FREE services. I cannot understand our congressional representative. Where are their brains...certainly not giveing a thought to the rights of US citizens. If an American citizen goes to the emergency room for treatment you will first be asked for your insurance and you will be expected to pay. If you are hispanic they don't even ask if you are a citizen, they give you medical service and send you on you way. I'm crying FOUL. gugliamo00	Well... the consensus seems to be against... I agree with the vote thus far. For those who would disagree, I would ask one simple question... Why? In every state in the United States, every US bank, accepts a drivers license as proof of legal residence. Even the Federal Government I-9 allows a drivers license as partial proof of citizenship. Giving drivers licenses to illegals would seem to invalidate those policies. Would you force citizens to carry passports to travel from state to state? There are US citizens who cannot get health benefits. Why not give benefits to US citizens to our citizens rather than to criminals? People complain about the money being spent elsewhere. They complain about the money being siphoned off to third-world countries so business can save a few bucks. They complain about the money being spent in Iraq. I will agree the first is totally wasted and represents a total drain on our economy. However, with respect to the money being spent in Iraq, at least that money has accomplished a few things. It has rid a country of a terrorist dictator. It has allowed them to have a voice in their government. It has assisted them in developing a military that will be able to defend themselves... so our troops may return home. It has confirmed the now-expressed (after the fact) suspicions of a few that perhaps Hussein didn't have the WMD the rest of the world was convinced he had. And, while the terrorists have been kept busy elsewhere, it might be noticed how seldom we have seen a major terrorist attack in the US in some time. Yet some contend that we assist people who have knowingly and intentionally broken our laws. I'm sorry for my ignorance, but I am unable to see the sense in that. Most of the money paid to these criminals (and they are criminals in every sense of the word... motive, means, opportunity... and the fact that they're breathing air in this country proves their guilt) is sent out of the country. Circumvent our tax law by demanding pay in cash... unreported. They therefore are illegally avoiding income tax. They also feel entitled for social services paid for by tax-paying citizens to help our own citizens. They put their children in our schools... also paid for with our taxes for our children. The don't force their kids to learn English--rather they expect us to learn Spanish. Again, WHY? US citizens claim to be forced into lives of crime because of ignorance, poverty, or by design. Yet we seem less than enthusiastic about supporting them. On the other hand, for some reason, people seem inclined to assist illegal aliens who pretend to be in th same situation. I have no qualm with those who are moved by their feelings of compassion to aid others. Let them. Let them take these people into their homes. Let them support them. Let them take responsibility for them, for their compliance with our laws. Let them teach their guests English. Let them pay their medical bills. Let them take care of them. Let them build them schools and teach them in Spanish. My hat's off to them. But, frankly, I see it as aiding and abetting a criminal in the commission of a crime. This is a free country.
