WhyMe?	No, you are a non-resident because student visas are non-immigrant visas. Only green card holders are resident aliens. Was this answer helpful to you? Yes / No

verne k	They are not the same. A student is a temporary visa. You may be able to apply for permanent residence but not based upon student status. See uscis.gov for immigration laws and info. Was this answer helpful to you? Yes / No
