RKC	The ones that hate us draw their conclusions from the news, their friends, and our government. They generalize that we are just like our government and of course the news only reports the bad stuff. I don't know how they came up with we are lazy, because we all work, men and women, and we work 40 hours or more with a short lunch, or no lunch, and 1 week vacation or no vacation. We then go home and clean our homes and do the yard work, shop, etc... That's why the US is so rich is because of the workforce. So, it's a myth the Americans are lazy! However, the French that are able to travel to the US or live near an American Military Base are able to meet Americans and know that the majority of us are good, decent people. PS You know, our countries should be pulling together instead of hating one another. Can you imagine China or Iran being a world power? The US does have it's downsides, but we do try to help others and give out loads and loads of money, food, and education. I really believe that WWIII is brewing with all this hate for one another going on and N. Korea and Iran wanting to make nukes. IrritableMom	I don't know that the French hate the U.S. so much as they're rightfully wary of our size, actions, and policies. The U.S. is an immense nation with a great deal of wealth and power. However, our residents are very poorly schooled in international affairs. Most of us only speak one language, and poorly at that. We would be hard pressed to find other countries on a map, much less discuss their politics, history, and current events. Many of us aren't very interested in the world outside our borders, and some are even proud of that fact. We also use a disproportionate amount of the world's resources and our recent political events have been quite erratic, to put it politely.
