Why do parents always buy themselves something but their children nothin much?

simonsnkr5	Exactly!- I agree with that ''rob h'' person.- what kinda parents are those? My parents buy me everything. But, if you want my opinion, parents sometimes forget they have priorities, and put themselves first. Probably if they don't have a lot of experience. Are you an only child? If so, they.........i don't want to say they don't have any experiance, but mabye........they put themselves first, because they are the ones with controll. Put it this way-if you had a dollar, and you are at the store, would you rather buy yourself a candybar, or would you rather buy your fish some fish food? I'd rather have a candybar myself. kill_jenn	I don't know how bad that situation is. I mean, when my parents got money, yeah, they'd spend money on things, but we were never handed it. I think it teaches kids the responsibilty of having to somewhat support themselves so they don't become too dependent. there's nothing wrong with having to earn it yourself if you want to blow it on things that you want rather than need. The Mammoth	because they worked for it and don't want to burn it all on your "OMFG NEW VIDEO GAME"... and they spend MOST of it on keeping YOU alive anyways.... Your HOUSE, your FOOD, your CLOTHES, your SCHOOL, all your GIFTS..... Money doesn't grow on trees, your parents spend a lot of money on you, dont lie to yourself. Was this answer helpful to you? Eileen C	Interesting. Parents take care of their children first and foremost. Do you have a roof over your head? Clothes on your back? Food in your ungrateful belly? For MANY that eats up almost all of their weekly or bi-weekly income. The parent is the one going to work day in and day out to earn the $$. Buying "nothin much" is more than what they are required by law to buy! Parents are only required (by law) to provide basic necessities (food, shelter, clothing). Ding-Ding	Whoa, dear one, which planet are you from? The rent covers your portion of living there, your use of electricity for the TV, Cable and the Internet fees, computer, DVD players, CD players, the printer, Monitor, the Speakers. The furniture upon which you sleep or sit. How about the food you eat or the clothes you wear, or the materials you need for school? Paychecks don't go too far these days. Gas has gone up tremendously in the last couple of months. Phone, gas, electricity have all gone up and in some states have doubled because of municipal, city, and local taxes have been added. Unfortunately after all that, they just might be right. Definitely was that way for me. My son started collecting all the old newspapers in our apartment complex. Collecting the soda cans tossed at our football games and saving up the plastic containers at home. It was work, sure, but he was getting almost $20 bucks a week. Darn sharp I say.
