All the participant nations are supposed to contribute to that fund only that most of the nations don't pay or never pay anything leaving all the burden to the United States, but at the end the United Nations are useless, the members are corrupted, and if you read about it, just recently the General Secretary's son was involved in a big fraud, the food for oil scam.. cyb

The U.S. mostly funds this stupid, inept organization.
Hell, we're even paying for some of these a$$hole diplomats' parking tickets because they can get away with not paying for it.
I'd like to see how much waste spending there is at the U.N.

The members of the United States support the budget of the UN. The proportion paid by each country is decided by the General Assembly, where each of the 191 countries get one vote. There is also funding for other UN organizations, including the World Health Organization, International Telecommunications Union, INTERPOL, etc.
For 2007 The United States will pay $422.7 million for the UN regular budget; $101.4 million for the World Health Organization (WHO); $89.3 million for the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO); $83.1 million for the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), in addition to $50 million requested for voluntary contributions; $69.5 for the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO); $63.3 million for the International Labor Organization (ILO); and $33.2 million for UN war crimes tribunals.
To put this in perspective, the total annual budget of the UN proper (not including affiliated organizations) is only $1.25 billion. This is a smaller budget than the Tokyo Fire Department. More money was wasted by Katrina victims (a total of $2 billion was found to have been wasted).

From the dues paid by the several united nations. The member states in other words.
The US provides 22%, Japan provides 19.6%, Germany provides 9.82%, France provides 6.5%, the UK provides 5.57%, Italy provides 5.1%, and Canada, Spain, and Brazil each provide about 2.5%. Of course, right now the USA is over a billion dollars behind on its commitment.
