What does that matter? Why is his a** more precious than any other soldier who serves in Iraq? If he's in the service, he goes where he is sent just like any other soldier. And if he gets killed, then he gets killed, just like any other soldier.
But he's "royalty", so they'll kiss his a** and pamper him. He won't be anywhere near combat. Some other poor guy will have to soak up the bullets for him.

If his unit goes, then he should go. Responsibility? Tony Blair, just like he is responsible for all the other guys who have died there. Get it out of your head that there is something special about Prince Harry. Also, he wants to go. I know his parents and grandparents don't want him to go, but there are thousands of parents and grandparents who feel the same way about their sons and grandsons! And they have NO SAY in the matter!

I saw news footage of him marching yesterday and I was totally unimpressed, he marched completely inadequately, forgetting even to offer the Nazi salute.
President Bush and PM Blair need to send him back to do more drill practise while they draw up invasion plans for Iran and Poland.

yes he should
if he dies, it is his responsibility, it was or is his decision.
He is only going to do what he is paid and also born to do. At last someone even connected to leadership with the guts to actually to something
blair would never allow his son to go.

He joined the army so he should expect him to go. We as taxpayers have paid for his training so we should expect him to do what he is paid for regardless of his position outside of the army.

The question needs to be made wider.
Would Harry make such a big target for terrorists and insurgents in Iraq that he is likely to create even more danger for those around him?
On the one hand, Harry should go because he is a soldier just like every other signed up member of the army.
However, the Army should consider whether having him in Iraq is for the best.
Most of those opposed to the British in Iraq would gladly strap a belt load of explosives on to themselves and try to take him and his comrades with him.
Unfortunately for Harry, he will be the biggest target in Iraq and it is likely that his participation will end up in the deaths of those tasked with ensuring his safety.
I believe he should stay at home for that reason alone. The fact he his such a high profile target means he represents a huge danger to those around him.

I say let him go like a normal soldier and face what they are facing. Dont think his family would like it but neither do the families with soldiers. He is old enough to make his own mind up and i think he has the right to go.
The responsibility would be down to himself like the rest. The government or queen does not take responsibility for the other soldiers so i dont see why with him really, yes his is a prince but we are the same human beings really. Our families are all the same and we love each other/soldiers the same.

Definitely should go as it would be double standards if he didn't. I'm sure there's been cases against soldiers who felt so strongly against this war that they didn't want to participate in it.
But he get to chose.....fair?

If it will cause a security problem, as in the British Armed Forced receive more attacks, more people die, then obviously it was a bad move. For after all, as much as the guy is obviously wanting to be "normal" in his world, his world is not "normal".
I only hope this isnt the case and his involvement is a positive.
If he dies, like any other military engagement, his seniors would have to take responsibility.

He could very easily use his influence to get out of it, but he chose to join his unit. From news reports I've seen, he has insisted on it actually.

Yes! He is a trained proffessional soldier in the British army. Why should he be excused duty while the rest of our lads are out there. He chose to join up. He wants to go, he is old enough to go and he will go. If he is killed on duty then as bad as that will be, he signed up in the knowledge it might happen

we spend a lot of money training him.
what would be the point of him not using these. 'expensive' skills.
if he died it would be the responsibility of who every shot him.
but that's unless Bliar is found guilty of waging an unjust war!

Yeah he should he joined the army to serve so why shouldn't he be sent just like everybody else just because he is a royal there is more focus on him, if the press didn't keep making it front page news maybe it wouldn't be such a problem for people.
But good on him if he wants to defend his country he should be allowed
Well done Harry!!!!!

Yes he chose to be a soldier so should follow out the duties he chose to take. He would take responsibility as he knows the risks of being in that position. If he doesn't go to war than his whole purpose as a soldier is to make a statement and not actually be a soldier at all. If his troop is going pack him off.
