mamour	why on earth would you want to defect to North Korea? do you realize what you are saying? first of all, to enter North Korea, it is not easy as a loner, visa are usually given to tourist group, faster than individual, when you defect? do know that to get out? i think it will be forever...... if you have committed anything that bad to want to defect to North Korea? if it is the case that indeed, you have done something that bad? it will be known before you enter, and if ? they let you in? kinning_park	It is remarkable how many have read this question and yet not understood it. The questioner does not ask if HE can defect to North Korea, but whether ANYONE could. A UK citizen does not have to have, or give, a reason for leaving the country. Neither does a UK citizen have to present a passport to leave the country, or even have a passport. goingtosoco	Sure, but why would you??? Several American soldiers did during the Vietnam Era and were persecuted by the North Koreans for doing so. One soldier finally left to be with his Japanese wife a couple years ago after much political pressure from the Japanese Kim Jong II finally let him go.
