i do what i want
What do you need to do to apply for an adoption?
i would like to know what you have to do to qualify, tests you have to take, open or closed adoption is best, what ur income has to be, if you can be single or have to be married.things like that.i was also wondering if you could adopt a newborn.someone said to me if you go to an adoption center they could Connect you to couples who are pregnant and want to adopt their baby out after they give birth.IKD.

i love little kids and want to make life for one better.i want them to love life and be happy.i don't want a baby to be traumatized by adoption centers and foster homes.i don't mean that ppl will traumatize them, i mean that they would just get sick of living in different places all the time.they would want a forever home.

thx so much and plz rate this as interesting!thx

Check Adoption Agencies on the internet. Different agencies have different requirements. Be very specific about what you are interested in age wise because friends of ours really wanted an infant, but when they were called about a child being available, he was nearly 7 years old and they didn't have the heart to say no to him. It is wonderful, when people choose older children to adopt, but if I were you, I'd give the agency a cut off age. If you go for a private adoption, make sure you have a good lawyer who specializes in this. Good luck Each baby is truly a blessing.

They do a background check not only on you but on family. Also it is hard to adopt if you are single. Most agencies will only adopt to married couples. You do have to show that you will e able to support the child and must have your own place. Adoption typically runs about $30,000-$50,000 when all is said and done. The process can sometimes take a long time and some couples wait many years on a list to adopt. Hope this helped.

There are no "tests" to take unless you count a physical and background check. :)
If you are going through the states foster/adopt system it is a lot easier than going through an agency.
Income only needs to show that you make enough to pay the bills. No set income standards.
You can be single, married, or divorced.
Most states foster/adopt systems don't have babies. Most of the children waiting for homes are 3 yrs of age and older. Mainly between 9 and 13.
The fees are very little to almost nothing if you adopt from the states foster system.

Agencies often require you to be married, have a certain income, and charge at least $30,000 or more to adopt. You could get an infant if you are willing to wait a few years or you could get an older child without as much of a wait.

Contact your local Department of Social Services to find out about orientation and the classes you need to take to be certified to foster or adopt.
