Okay, maybe I should have paid more attention, but now I need some help.?

A friand (39 years old) had some heart problems and half of his hear stoped working, he had 4 young girls 1 year to 8 years old.
He is adopted in Ohio and his wife would like to find his family.
How can I help her. There are so many search sites and they aren't really search friendly.
What are the main search sites?
Any suggestions when searching?

Additional Details
I do know his info if anyone is willing to help me. I know his bday and birth county. Also some of what he was told by the agency about his family, but that's not worth much. You never know if it's truthful or just sending you in the wrong direction.

Actually, the mormon church is a great place to start. They have some of the most detailed geneology records anywhere.

I'll start with the standard info...
If you have your friend's information, you could try to put it on some registries...
(I don't know if you can put his info on ISRR, but maybe his wife can?):

You can also put his info on adoption.com:

If he went through an agency, they may offer reunion facilitation services. (It will cost money, though not as much as a private investigator.)

That's the initial stuff. Do you know much about his information? His birthdate? Place? (If he was adopted in Ohio, records are sealed from that era, as I know all too well.) Searching can be a lot of work, but this should get you started (and you might get lucky).
