Im divorced with 2 kids. I would love to foster a child but im not so sure i would qualify knowing im single.?

Still Me	And so this child, who has been abused or neglected, will spend 9-10 hours a day in day care? Probably not the best plan for a child in foster care. Many agencies will not place an infant or young child in foster care without at leas one stay at home parent to care for them. They will often place a school aged child with a single mother or father, the reasoning being the child will be in school while the parent is at work. I hope that helps! Good luck! Don't judge me.	this lady that used to live next door to me was a foster mom and she was single. she wasn't rich but she could pay her bills. i think that u should try it. i think u could do it. good luck! Was this answer helpful to you? Yes / No

meghananne23	Hi and THANKS for wanting to be a foster parent! We need more people like you!!! I used to work for CPS, and come to think of it, I think all of the foster parents I knew were single. Da Sexi 1	First of all I want to commend you. I think it is very honorable of you to know that you are a single mom and willing to take on another additional responsibility. There is such a great need for foster parents in this country and it angers me that celebrities get all this recognition for adopting all of these foreign children when we have boys and girls who are in desperate need right here! Anyway, I definately would encourage you to take the steps to opening your home to fostering. I have done it and here in Texas, they want to know that you are financially stable and that you are not looking to support yourself with the money that is provided to properly care for the kids. They also look at changes that have occured recently because they want you to have a strong mental psyche because these kids have gone through alot and you need to be strong for them. You have to be prepared to deal with issues because some of these kids have been physically, mentally and even sexually abused and they require more attention than your own children might. This could cause problems within your family, so you just need to discuss in depth with your children how special they are to have you who love and respect them and this is why you want to share your home with unfortunate children who aren't as lucky. Also they will do a home study and see how you run your house and how your children behave, they will ask your children how they feel about having foster children in their home so this is definately something that you want to discuss with your children. I had to participate in 12 weeks of training and get licensed in cpr and first aid all at my own cost and you have to submit to an extensive background check.
