How to find my son?
Twelve years ago I gave birth to a baby boy, and my mother said that he died but recently I found out he was alive and my mother gave him for adoption. I can’t ask my mother where he is because she dies and I found out some letters about him which said “Dr. Mrs …He is healthy” and things like that, and from the letters I find out that he is in an orphanage, but there wasn’t the name of the boy or the orphanage…

Do you have any idea how I can found him?

This is very urgent you should look at all the local orphanages and or get his record at the hospital. I also suggest you watch the movie August Rush if you haven't seen it already. I am so sorry about what happened to you. I would want to know why your mother did that to you if I were you.

Here a few suggestions to try...
First off, I agree with those who said to try to find the hospital he was born in. They usually will have some record of the child and possibly where he ended up.
I would also possibly try your local courthouse or adoption agency...it's possible the adoption went through either one of those. If it did go through one of those, you can hire a confidential intermediary...someone who has access to all the court records or adoption records and is allowed to look at them for you. I did that when I was searching for my biological brothers, but she didn't help that much. She had a few leads, but never lead me to them. But it's still worth a try. I eventually found my brothers on my own. Or more like they found me, through a site called adoption.com. That is worth a try as well, everything and anything could help. If you post a profile on there, your son could possibly find you if he ever looks. Hope that helps, adn good luck!

I'm pretty sure that she can not legally put the child up for adoption. She would have no parental or custodial rights. I would go to the police, tell them what happened to you, and ask for one of them to escort you to the hospital. Hospitals have very strict rules about the information they are allowed to release. You will need identification and evidence of who you are. That is why I would bring the officer. If you have a member of the law enforcement with you, they would be more likely to give you the information you need. The hospital should really be able to help you out. From there, you could research the adoption agency used, find them, and explain the situation to them. They should be helpful, especially if they know that the adoption might not have been entirely legal. Good luck finding your son!

If you still have the letters track the post mark , research orphanages in that postmark area, who was the law firm that expedited the adoption to the orphanage, there is a paper-trail for everything in life , if you have money , perhaps u can hire a private investigator to assist you ,, BUT 1st ask the question of yourself do you REALLY want to walk down this road ,

This will be tough. Maybe start by contacting the hospital where you had him? See if you can get any sort of records. If you know his birthdate, that might help. And what about contacting the person who sent the letters to your mother? Once you have ANY information to go on, you can start contacting child services in the area where you think he might be.

Ghost Writer Rides Again
Since this would be considered an illegal adoption, bring any proof you have to the authorities and pursue legal action against the lawyer or agency that handled the adoption of your son. You will more than likely get him back under the circumstances, but at this age, it would be emotionally traumatizing for all involved....for you, your son and the adoptive parents (if they did not know he was legally not available for adoption).

First of all I am so sorry you're dealing with such a painful situation. Go to www.the-seeker.com, they have a lot of good information. Also try www.nationaladoptionregistry.com and if you can afford to hire an attorney that would be your best bet. Adoption laws are very strict but there are often loop holes and optional resources lawyers have to help people. Good luck and best wishes!

You must of had a messed up life... what kind of mother tells her daughter her baby died and sends it off for adoption? I dont care if you were a teenage mother, that is NOT right.

go to the hospital and ask for a copy of his records, then go to city hall and tell them you need a copy of your public records and see if there is anything in there. or you can call around to adoption agencys and see if they have any record of your moms name.

Where do you live (what country)? there aren't orphanages in the US, so I'm assuming you live somewhere else. I think you would need to provide that info before people can help you look.

If she did place him for adoption in the US he is probably with a family, and she probably had to lie a lot to go through a proper adoption agency, or maybe she did it illegally.

What right did your mother have in giving your child away. If you have a letter, but no name for the child or area he may be in, your only lead is the name on the letters. I hope you can find him. Your mother was dead wrong for doing this to you.

Is there a return address? Oh my, i'm so sorry for your situation! With today's search features you are likely to find him...It might take alot of searches but stay positive! Call different orphanages and explain the situation...Make sure to mention your mother's name.. Go to the hospital where you gave birth.. Find out who signed him over... etc. Hospital records should tell who the child went to... or some type of situation..if it just says your mother than research the hospital online and what orphanages they would refer peopl to back in that year.

Go to the hospital he was born at. Then tell them the exact date he was born (and time if you remember). That hospital should be able to pull up his record. Then you can ask them to check all orphanages for that name. You should find him because there isn't a very likely chance that someone has the same first, middle, and last name as your son. =)

It depends on what state you are in. In Florida all adoptions are processed through Family Support Services. Try to see if Family Support Services are available in your state, if not contact the Department of Children and Families and they'll forward you to the appropriate organization. Even if your baby was adopted through a private organization his adoption was processed through a central agency. That agency should have information on the adoption.
