IDK!! |
A few months back there was someone who posed as an PAP?
|
...... and lookiing for a quick cheap baby, anyway possible.
She gave an e-mail and when I crossed it with myspace, I found that she was actually a parent who lost custody to her child.
Why would someone pose as a PAP and want to reinforce the stereotypes of greedy baby hungry PAPs?
Wouldn't it be better for someone to "Pose" as an PAP or AP who can be an example.
I feel like when someone asks Qs like that, it just givces more ammo to those who feed on it and wanna say "See, I told you it's true....."
How can anyone really say that anyone is an AP/PAP, BNFmother adoptee or anyother person they may claim to be?
What do you think? How much weight can we really give to anything people claim to be?

They do that specifically to make AP's and PAP's look bad. There are also posers who say they are looking for someone to adopt there baby--trying to (again) entice PAP's "take the bait". They are not fooling anyone.

What's confusing to me is when someone responds very differently to a question in a personal email than in answers in the Q & A section. Makes me wonder. And for me they lose credibility.

Take everything with a grain of salt, I guess. I'm not a suspicious person by nature, so when I read a plausible sounding story, I don't automatically assume that the writer MUST be lying. But unless I see something that automatically screams "TROLL!" I try to answer the question posed, without reading too much into it.
Still, it doesn't surprise me though.

Obviously, you can never know for sure, but usually you can tell after a few posts if someone's for real. It's hard to fake something for very long if you haven't actually experienced it. And, just as you found out, a little research goes a long way. Personally, I always take things with a grain of salt until I've gotten to know the poster, so to speak. Once I get a read on where they're coming from, and if they're being strait, then I will judge what they're saying.

This is the internet, people lie, people make up stories, they do it for many reasons, to get a kick out of it, because they arent quite right in the head, because they are compulsive liars, because they want revenge....the list goes on ....
Unfortunately usually the DECENT people who try to out a troll/liar are the ones that end up in the crap
I KNOW - its happened to me more than once...you'd think I'd learn to keep my nose out and just let people find out themselves!
So whatever you do, if you sniff out a troll/liar then just keep it to yourself because no one appreciates it anyway and you'll end up the *bad guy*
Just do and say what you want to do and take everything else with a grain of salt...

It's the Internet. The first rule is do NOT trust everything you read. I just try to answer questions to possibly help people or share our story. If that works, great. If not, I've lost nothing.

Well I've never done it, and don't know of anyone who has posed as a mother or a PAP.
However, if someone takes the bait--aren't they guilty? How would you feel if your hubby were 'entrapped' by a cop posing as an easy lay?
Would he be guilty, or would you let it slide?
Maybe he'd just 'look bad', as another poster suggested.
