I have done, and for about 15 miles, when I had a double punture during a car-rally. I changed the front driving wheel, but had to rely on a punctured rear tyre.
Believe it or not, so long as you keep the speed up above about 40mph, the tyre will not run flat due to centrifugal force, but naturally, you have to take care when cornering, due to the fact that a tyre can easily roll off the rim.
Naturally, the handling wasn't too good, but in that sort of situation (I was on closed roads) it was perfectly possible to get to the end of the section, and the tyre did not destroy the wheel or do damage to the car.
Eventually, the tyre will start to break-up, and at that point, you have no option but to stop. However, I've seen rally cars do 20 miles on just the alloy wheels, but it doesn't do them a lot of good!

Yes, I would and have. Only going pretty slowly just to get to a spot to change the tire. You'd be surprised how fast you can go without damaging anything but the rim. Expensive aluminum rims usually can't take the abuse.

only as a LAST and I mean LAST resort.IF my well being and safety depended on it
The handling of the vehicle will be terrible.
you will ruin the tyre and possibly your wheel too.
Sparks made by the wheel could ignite your fuel tank and you might even crash.
You can get cars with run-flat tyres these days but even then you have to be wary.
The only circumstance I could justify would be if You'd be putting yourself in real danger by changing the wheel.

Yeah, If the car is fitted with run flat tyres. I would drive until I could stop in a safe position and change the wheel. Failing that stop, pullover and call RAC/AA thats what we pay 'em for.

i dont see why you would have to. its really really bad for the wheels. you should just drive it far enough off the road to change the tire. or call someone to do it for you.

only if you have too.... it causes more damage to other parts . which cost you more money... it best just to get it off the road or street and call or wait for help or change the flat yourself... its the last thing that should be done.... much better choices to do. like walking

You shouldn't because it messes up the rim. I have however driven one or two blocks to the gas station. I would not recommend it though. I think I just got lucky.

The only reason to do so would be to get to a safe area to change the tire. There are some brands of tires that have a run flat feature which allows you to do that without taking the risk of loss of control or damage to the vehicle.

Yes if it had run-flat tires. They are usually good for about 50 mph and speeds up to the speed limit. Other than that I would not driving on a flat any distance just destroys the tire and can be a safety issue, as the car will pull to one side.
