drfun96	I think the safest color is that deep shiny ORANGE you see on utility trucks and School buses. Anyone who doesn't see that color has got serious ADHD issues. I once had a student with a neurological disorder of the eye muscles and she had a deep shiny yellow car because, she knew she wasn't a great driver. She still got hit though. Actually red is safer than white, however, people who drive red cars are more likely to speed and drive recklessly. I personally like white cars and red cars. Daytime running lights add to the visibility, especially during dusk, dawn and inclement weather. On a more personal note, I believe that following too closely is the number one contributor to accidents followed by driving too fast for the road conditions. Leave 1 car length for every 10 miles an hour you travel or at least 3 car lengths. I have seen over and over drivers following too closely distracted for just a moment and ... bam cruch honk boom. People driving in silver cars were 50 per cent less likely to suffer serious injury in a crash compared with drivers of white cars, the research in New Zealand found. White, yellow, grey, red and blue cars carried about the same risk of injury. But those taking to the roads in black, brown or green cars were twice as likely to suffer a crash with serious injury. Sue Furness, at the University of Auckland, led the study but says the team does not know why silver cars appear safer. "We think it may be due to a combination of light colour and high reflectivity," she speculates. She suggests that increasing the proportion of silver cars on the road might provide a "passive strategy" to cut car crash injuries. "If there's proof that certain colours are safer and easier to see in all road conditions that might be useful to people in terms of purchasing a car," says Roger Vincent, of the UK Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents. Isabelle	White is the safest I read..it is also the cheapest.. Black and red cars get most stolen (for prestige) and are also more expensive and you pay more for insurance for that reason. The colour red...is said by some experts..(don't know) that it is chosen by impulsive or young drivers, flashy people and tend to be people who are the most careless.. towitout	In the State of Minnesota, Here they have Trucks that the State operates on our highways to help stranded or broken down motorists and the safest color by the Institute of driver safety is a "light lime green" Weird but true and Red and Black or basically Dark colored autos are the most dangerous.
