What does nox mean in a emmision test?
my car fail a emmision test and the garage told me it was because of the nox was to high, just a little bit,but they cant tell me what it means,or how do i go about getting it fix
noxious gases, I'll tell you how you can get this fixed fast, get a fuelinjection cleaning, and add chevron fuel system cleaner 20 oz to a full tank, go back in one week try again.
It means nitrogen oxides. There are three of these with different formulas. All are poisonous and all are caused by the nitrogen and oxygen in air being subjected to high temperatures in the cylinders of the car. The way to get rid of them is to break them down into nitrogen and oxygen with a catalytic converter fitted to the exhaust.
NOX is Oxides of Nitrogen. It is because your fuel air mixture is too rich. Take the car to a good mechanic and it can be adjusted. The cost should be nominal.
nox means oxides of nitrogen and this created when the engine is running too lean exceeding 2500 degrees F, and it could be caused by different things like a hole in the intake manifold or any vacuum hose, or maybe the fuel injectors or fuel lines are clogged, any excessive air that bypasses the mass air flow sensor or any component that is clogged or damaged in the fuel system will cause nox to be created in the combustion chamber because of excessive temperatures.
