YES! DEFINETLY!
My last accident was from a 16 tr old girl that ran a red light in front of me, while on the phone. I tried to miss her. She never got off the phone after the accident. I had my two children with me but they were safe. I still have neck pain but never pursued law suit. She denied being on the phone and running the red light! Thank God I had TWO witnesses or they would of charged me!

It is illegal in many areas already. Yes, it should be illegal everywhere because I can't tell you how many times I've almost been hit because someone is on their cell phone and swerving into the other lanes. Also, people tend to go really slow while on their cellphones- many people here begin going 40 on the interstate (in a 70mph zone) when they are busy talking on their cell phone. It's extremely dangerous- not to mention texting!
If you must make a phone call, pull into a parking lot and make the call.

( i was looking at my mom, not paying attention to the road either..) dumb teenager.

Back in the day, we drove for miles out of our way to find a pay phone. What's so important that it can't wait until you get home, especially if it could cause an accident due to inattention.

Yes they should be banned.

&nd to the people who say no
I'm sorry but people die.
If that still that doesn't help then think about someone who
you love so dearly with all your heart gets killed by a driver who is texting or on the phone. Then your
opinion will change.

Absolutely yes! They are way too distracting. What could possibly be so killer important that people have to talk on the phone while driving? If drivers absolutely must talk on the phone then they should pull over rather than speed along and continue yapping while trying to control the car with one hand.

YES YES YES!!! Just about every car I see pass by on my street has someone yakkin on the cell phone, it makes me mad, thinking of the next person who'd be killed by a driver becuse of the distraction..how embarrassing it could be if it was notified through the t.v. news!!!

Yes I do think that it should be banned. There has been way too many accidents and people that have been killed, while someone has been using there cell phone.
If you really need to use the phone Pull over! and Talk!

*I'm not here to please u*
Yes. Because I was in a car accident and this stupid lady wasa on her cell phone not paying attention and went into my lane and she still kept on her cell phone and drove off.
The only time she got off that thing was when I followed her and kept honking at her to pull over and when the cops showed up.

Cell phones are very distracting because there are even people who will text while driving.

Yes. They are a distraction for the driver which endangers everyone in the vehicle as well as unsuspecting occupants of other vehicles.

Yes - the only difference between driving drunk and texting or dialing numbers is that you can drop the phone, if you're drunk, you're drunk.

Yes. There has almost been a linear increase in accidents caused by cellphones since they began to become popular. They use the same side of the brain that you use to process many things while driving, therefore causing a loss of focus on the driver's part. Hope this helps.
