Not enough parking spaces!!!?
I just moved into a newly built condominium complex here in Nashville, TN. There is NOT enough parking for everyone that lives here. What's even more frustrating, is not all residents have moved in yet. If there is not enough parking for all residents, would this be illegal on the developers part? The only available parking areas are the fire lanes or handicapped spots (which I have been towed from before for parking there). What can be done from a homeowner's standpoint to battle this issue? Can I take legal action? I'm afraid that the severe lack of parking will bring my resale value down. HELP!!!

Where I live is used to be among the statutory requirements that each car parking lots provided shall be at least on par with the number of units. Recently this is no more the requirements

You may want to recruit your neighbours to jointly seek legal advice/assistance on such matter

Officer Waffle
I'm having the SAME problem. My mom takes up the driveway so I always hafta find a spot in the area. These are family townhouses so most of them own more than one car. There are NEVER enough spots for everyone. I just circled the whole neighborhood. My only options were a handicapped spot or to park at the edge of my driveway on the sidewalk (which is what I chose). I'm prolly gonna find a nice fat ticket from my prick security guard when I go to my car in the morning. Do what I'm going to do, get a bunch of the neighbors to form a group and call the people who run the complex. Tell them that they need to assign spots for each homeowner. If there aren't enough spots then they need to find room to build more.

Usually there are zoning requirements for the amount of parking spaces. Zoning regulations change over the years so it depends when it was built and what the regulations were at the time. If there is an HOA, it can be addressed there.
