My speeding ticket does not have the speed I was going or the posted limit, is it still valid in Connecticut?

George A	The citation that you received is only a notice. Any typos that the officer may have done on the citation can be amended when it is entered into the system or explained by the officer to the judge when you appear in court. Sure you can try to get a dismissal for that, but it will most likely not work. And don't hold your breath that the officer will fail to show up. Most departments pay the officer extra to make sure they do appear & should the officer be tied up on a serious emergency call & cannot make it to court, some courts will continue the hearing & reschedule it for another day so the officer can be there. The days of an automatic dismissal due to the officer being a no show is a thing of the past now. Officers that do not show up now are subject to disciplinary actions by their superiors. Julie E	Your best bet is to contact the courts and ask them these questions. They are the ones who will process your ticket and will know all the laws and regulation. You should also ask the courts if you are allowed to take a driving school class. This will prevent your insurance from going up and points from being placed on your license. sgoldperson	As to the cop not telling you why he was pulling you over that is more of a gray matter. You have the right to ASK why you are pulled over and they must tel you. I'm not aware that they HAVE to tell you without being asked. So that part could be brought up on your side, but may not do any good, short of maybe making the cop look bad to the Judge and the Cop will look bad when the Judge sees the ticket. I'd hope the missing information helps. I mean if they gave your speed, or the speed limit, that may not help. On the other hand NEITHER is listed so the fine just gives an idea of how fast over the limit you should have been going, based on the fine compared to the amount over the speed limit. big_block_saint	I agree with Jolly ... those tickets should have the posted speed limit of the zone and your actual speed should be clearly written ... if not it would be like you received a $211 for operating a motor vehicle... Was this answer helpful to you? Yes / No

Jolly	There should have been an entry for the speed your vehicle was traveling, and the posted speed limit there. You can speak with the prosecutor prior to the court appearance to determine your plans in court. Was this answer helpful to you? Yes / No
